Chicago, Illinois-based metallic hardcore quartet NEQUIENT will release Collective Punishment, a new EP featuring both new and live material, through Nefarious Industries in early November. Preorders have been issued, and the band will donate this weekend’s sales to Equal Justice Initiative.

Building on a foundation of thrashing d-beat, NEQUIENT draws influences from a broad spectrum of aggressive styles including grindcore, crust, sludge, death metal, black metal, and noise rock. The result is a uniquely punishing sound that emphasizes percussive intensity and razor-sharp hooks.

Formed in 2014, NEQUIENT’s first official release was 2015’s Infinite Regress EP, the start of a longstanding collaboration with producer Pete Grossmann (Immortal Bird, Something Is Waiting, Warforged) at Bricktop Recording in Chicago. Following a few personnel shifts, the group settled on its current configuration and forged a debut full-length, Wolves At The Door, issued in 2018 by Nefarious Industries. Decibel Magazine lent the album its “enthusiastic stamp of approval,” declaring, “NEQUIENT comes blazing in on a misanthropy-fueled ICBM missile.” Ghost Cult Magazine described the band as, “astute musical assassins,” driven by the powerful drumming of “human tornado” Chris Avgerin.

NEQUIENT set out on a campaign of DIY touring in support of Wolves At The Door, playing every dive bar, basement, community center, banquet hall, and benefit festival that would have them. Those travels culminated in a late 2019 run with Danish avant-hardcore technicians, labelmates Oxx.

A few months later, NEQUIENT reconvened at Bricktop to track a new album, once again helmed by Grossmann, not realizing that the global pandemic would soon slow all further progress to a maddening crawl. In 2021, the band will at last make its comeback with the digital EP Collective Punishment, which acts as a harbinger for their second full-length, Darker Than Death Or Night. A succinct but damaging release, Collective Punishment features two exclusive tracks from the early 2020 sessions -- “Collective Punishment” and “Strange Death Of Kings” – which were produced by Pete Grossmann at Bricktop Recording (Weekend Nachos, Like Rats) and mixed by Sanford Parker at Hypercube (Voivod, Yob, Eyehategod, Lord Mantis). The record also features live performances of “First Casualty” and “Coins For The Ferryman” recorded October 20th, 2019 by Alan Sifuentes at Valdosta DIY House and mixed by Patrick Conahan. The EP was mastered by Collin Jordan at the Boiler Room and completed with artwork and logo by M. G. Miller.

Nefarious Industries will release Collective Punishment on all digital platforms and in a limited run of cassettes on November 5th. Find preorders including merch bundles and more at the label webshop HERE. All proceeds from this weekend’s presales will be donated to Equal Justice Initiative.

Watch for additional previews of the Collective Punishment EP to post over the coming days. Updates on Darker Than Death Or Night will follow directly afterward, as the LP is slated for release in the first quarter of 2022 in conjunction with US tour dates.

INVASION (ex-Fuck Off & Aspid) & BARBARIAN will see their demos 2000 & 2003 reissued on CD/DIGITAL through Fighter Records!

Fighter Records is planning the imminent official reissue of the only 2000 demo of INVASION, a band formed by two ex-members of FUCK OFF and two ex-members of ASPID, two of the most relevant Spanish Thrash/ Speed bands. in the '90s. It also includes the 2003 demo of BARBARIAN, which is the continuation of said band, although this time with Pep at the helm and different members. This release will be titled "Barbarian Invasion" and will be released on CD and Digital formats on October 28th through Fighter Records.

INVASION was formed in the late '90s by ex-FUCK OFF guitarist Pep Casas. In 1998, for the formation of said band, Pep, contacted Joe, ex-singer of FUCK OFF, and with brothers Javi and Rafa Garrigós, bassist and drummer respectively, from the band ASPID, who at that time had made a hiatus in their activity, to find a new singer. They recorded a demo in 2000 and played some shows in the area. Later, as a trio and with Pep taking over the voice, they became BARBARIAN INVASION, although later, in 2003, they shortened their monicker to BARBARIAN and Pep went on to bass and Alberto Martorell on guitar and Luciano Rocca on drums, recording a 6-track demo that same year, followed by an EP and two albums until 2009.

"Barbarian Invasion" contains the two demos of both bands, which were actually one, where photos of both lineups are included, as well as the complete and detailed history of their trajectory and all members that formed it. The covert artwork has been created by José Vives, and in this way, those demos that are already part of the history of Spanish Metal are immortalized.

Dead Sun - "Collection Of Past Remains"

Label: MDD Records
Release: 27. August 2021
Format: Jewel Case
Genre: Death Metal

Worshipping Swedish death metal!

The story of Dead Sun started in 1997, founded by Rogga Johansson and Andreas Carlsson from Paganizer. The band recorded several demos and EPs over the years. "Collection Of Past Remains" contains the collection of all songs recorded between their regular albums since 2013, some of which have not been released until today.
This collection reflects the development of this quasi "Dismember worship project" by Rogga, who plays all instruments except the drums, which have been taken over by Jon Rudin in the meantime.

After the recent massive and respectable "Night Terrors" album, it's time to dive into the complete history of DEAD SUN. Any fan of murderous Swedish death metal bulldozers will love this slice of down-tuned guitars that is as melodic as it is aggressive.

DEBER premiere new track at MetalBite.com - features members of ONDSKAPT, ANGUISH, AVSKY

Today, funeral doom upstarts Deber premiere the new track "Decay" at heavily trafficked web-portal MetalBite.com. The track is the second to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Aspire to Affliction, set for international release on November 5th via Personal Records. Hear Deber's "Decay" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Hailing from Sweden, Deber are a funeral doom metal band consisting of two members from high-profile bands: DIE (Anguish, Ondskapt) and HCF (Avksy, Acolytes of Moros). They formed in 2020 when the pandemic broke out, and their main reason for forming Deber was to create something even darker and denser than their previous bands - achieving this by going slow, and going full-on funeral doom.

Indeed, they accomplish that - and MORE, going slower and deeper - with their monolithic debut album, Aspire to Affliction. Aptly titled, Aspire to Affliction doesn't aspire to recreate the wheel; rather, Deber aspire to create traditional funeral doom in the mold of masters Evoken, Worship, Skepticism, and Colosseum among others. Indeed, with DIE in charge of strings and organ while HCF handles drums and vocals, Deber's focused onslaught of sound retains a single-minded focus, but equally shows no shortage of imagination, as the organ work, in particular, evinces an especially inspired creepiness and centuries-old aura.

Recorded between May 2020 and July of 2021, Deber brought to life/death Aspire to Affliction wholly inspired by the glimmering city lights full of miserable conditions as seen from the woods of Uppsala, where the album was recorded. Those sensations are writ large here, for your imminent imbibement and ruination: this is music for your funeral.

March to that funeral with the brand-new track "Decay" exclusively HERE, courtesy of MetalBite.com. Further march with the previously revealed "Soulblind" HERE at Personal Records' Bandcamp as well as HERE at Personal Records' official YouTube channel. Preorder info can be found HERE. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:
