CADAVERIC FUMES set release date for first & final BLOOD HARVEST album, reveal first track

[Wenc]

Blood Harvest Records is proud to present Cadaveric Fumes' long-awaited first (and final) album, Echoing Chambers of Soul, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats. The CD and tape versions will be released on December 10th while the vinyl version will follow in January 2022.

"It has been five years long wandering. Five years of efforts trying to reinvent our sound, searching for a meaning to keep on playing this beloved genre of music. Through sweat and blood. This meant experimentations, lineup restructuration, songs written then thrown in the bin, exhaustion.

"But here we are. Ten years after the inception of the band, it's here. Our debut and final album,
Echoing Chambers of Soul.

"We dreamt this record for a long, long time. Burning ourselves into it until we burn the band itself. But the result is our biggest pride, and we hope you'll like it as much as we do.

[Leo]

Since their formation in 2011, Cadaveric Fumes were at the forefront of France's now-burgeoning death metal scene. Patiently, they perfected their craft over the course of a debut demo in 2012, a split mini-album with Demonic Oath in 2014, and especially the breakout Dimensions Obscure mini-album in 2016, courtesy of BLOOD HARVEST. At once classically inspired and tastefully forward-thinking, on Dimensions Obscure did Cadaveric Fumes forego the all-manic/all-the-time morbidity for a highly dynamic and nuanced take on death metal. Granted, flashes of mid '80s insanity and early '90s darkness remained, but a cool confidence was at play here, heightening the songcraft to inflict both maximum cranial damage and spiritual atmosphere. Indeed, the sky seemed the limit...

Or perhaps it was the abyss? For Cadaveric Fumes stayed patient yet quiet, releasing a three-song demo in 2017 and then a split 7" with fellow French comrades Skelethal the next year, and now arrives their final recording, which just so happens to be their first full-length: Echoing Chambers of Soul. Going out on the grandest of notes, Cadaveric Fumes' first/final album keeps one foot planted in the band's not-inconsiderable past and another in equally-dazzling new territory. Truly, Echoing Chambers of Soul is aptly titled, for there's an ominously spacious MURK here - but unlike so many trendy "cavernous" bands of the past decade, Cadaveric Fumes are skilled songwriters (keenly note SONG) and are equally skilled at finding that elusive nexus between "pure" and "progressive." There's a stomp and strut here that's stultifying to behold - pure early '90s panache, and authentically so - but then arises from that murk godly leads and other finessed touches of texture, making Echoing Chambers of Soul both spirit-crushing and -uplifting. We'd even deign to call it "beautiful" if not for the ever-present darkness so central to death metal...and then, like that, Cadaveric Fumes fade to the ether and cease to exist.

[Romain]

An exquisite corpse is left behind, and we're all to wonder what might've been? "Cadaveric Fumes has always been a band of friends," they say. "We started as a three-piece band with no real ambitions other than playing the brand of death metal we love. Then we had a demo out and our name started circulating in the underground, which solidified us as a real band. But friendship, like family, sometimes has its flaws, and as the years went by, some of us lost interest in keeping Cadaveric Fumes their main priority. In respect for this friendship that goes beyond any band feuds, we decided to end this ten-year-long ride on good terms, releasing an album we have teased for years and dreamt for even more."

Cadaveric Fumes respectably break up and leave behind what's bound to be a modern classic. A veritable portrait of (death metal) Dorian Gray, enter Echoing Chambers of Soul forevermore.

Iku-Turso - "At The Crack Of Dawn"

From the Pagan wastelands of Pakana, the band take a hard turn and venture deep into distant unknown territories, where the light of day is seldom seen. The call of the night slowly dies, Blood red is the trail, An evil emerges - At the crack of Dawn.

The title track is taken from their third album but sung in Dutch here (in English on the album) and it was mixed and mastered especially for this release. As a B-side, there is a Ulver cover and an outro to complete this epic preview into our third album "Into Dawnless Realms".

The third album will act as a farewell and an end of an era release as our drummer Myrrys left the band on the eve of the drum recordings. Iku-Turso wanted him to select one of the songs and a cover song to part ways with us properly fighting farewell battles through this celebration of Cold Nordic Black Metal. Their original drummer Alp was also called in to perform the guitar solo on the Ulver cover.

Aurorae (Outro)

Cleveland Doom Act FRAYLE Announces European Tour Dates For This Fall!

In support of their latest 2020- album, 1692, Cleveland, USA- based heavy witch doom act FRAYLE has announced a series of European tour dates, and no, not for 2022 but kicking off THIS October!

FRAYLE makes music for the night sky. The group was formed in 2017 by guitarist Sean Bilovecky (formerly of now-defunct Man's Ruin recording artists Disengage) and vocalist Gwyn Strang, a singer with an alluring voice and an equally compelling flair for imagery. Ever since their 2018- debut EP The White Witch, FRAYLE’s “lullabies over chaos” approach to songwriting allows the group the freedom to explore what is possible with heavy music; its gorgeously ominous sound a result of complex layering and tone stacking while simultaneously overseeing the perfectly delicate balance between heaving, heavy riffs and haunting vocal melodies. With its first full-length, 1692 (Aqualamb Records, Lay Bare Recordings) – which has been lauded by the international music press such as Revolver Magazine, Kerrang!, Metal Injection, Pop Matters and Consequence Of Sound to name just a few – FRAYLE pushes the immense intensity and gorgeous ache of its unique sound and style through to uncompromising new plateaus. While there is much darkness on the record, it’s also contrasted superbly with beauty, both fragile and fierce, in a way that feels weightless rather than plummeting, as if release truly is a possibility.

Complex layering and tone stacking is a hallmark of their music. Each musical element is thoughtfully composed resulting in a unique combination of midrange-heavy guitars, syncopated rhythms, and unexpected vocal progressions. Extraordinary vocalist Gwyn tells stories of heart break, anger, hypocrisy and resolution, asking the audience for empathy, and in turn inspiring vulnerability. Drawing inspiration from bands like Sleep, Portishead, Beastwars, Blonde Redhead, Kyuss, Massive Attack, Down, Chelsea Wolfe, and many more, FRAYLE exists at the intersection of doom and dream pop.

Today, the band has not only announced to hit the European roads in just a couple of weeks, but also released a gripping cover version of “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” by British dark wave giants BAUHAUS. Says vocalist Gwyn Strang:

"I was nervous to cover “Bela Lugosi’s Dead”.

It’s what I consider a perfect song; ambient and creepy and it crawls along, keeping your attention the entire time. I wanted to make sure we did it justice so we took some extra time with it to make it something we’re happy to share. The first half of our version pays homage to the original while the second half is definitively “Frayle”.

Listen to FRAYLE’s haunting version of “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” HERE!

“We are excited and eager to get back to Europe,“ The band comments. “The past few years were spent crafting our sound and building upon what was started with our debut release “The White Witch”.  The pandemic halted our plans to tour our most recent record “1692” so this will be the first time we have been able to fully support our record.  Also expect some surprise material that we have been working on.”

Sweden's REVEAL! set release date for new SEPULCHRAL VOICE album

And predictably, Reveal! return with another unpredictable record which asks yet more questions and gives no easy answers: Doppelherz. Indeed, Doppelherz is NOT “easy” – in fact, it’s arguably more challenging than Scissorgod – but through some strange sort of magick known only to them, Reveal! here have become more…cinematic? Epic? More “listenably unlistenable”? Truly. But, only half the truth, because the band’s truth could be lies, and lies always entice…

Doppelherz is lunatic, and it rocks. It IS epic, and it IS cinematic. It’s also more melodic, more wounded, more wasted, more desperate, and also more accomplished and “cleaner” – only VERY relatively speaking, for this is grade-A DIRT we’re still talking about – and more professional / “professional” and even kinda more heavy metal…in the wildest, weirdest way possible.

Or, it all just sounds like Reveal! No other outfit dances as dangerously on the thin line between genius and madness as these insane Swedes, and Doppelherz is poignant proof.

First track premiere to be revealed shortly. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Tracklisting for Reveal! (Sweden)'s Doppelherz
1. Cocoon (Bitch Regalia)
2. Inshallah
3. Cokkkfights
4. Angel's Bend
5. Clearly, God Damn
6. Stalactites (When Cast Down the Mountain)
7. Mal Aria
8. Bags of Shine
9. Some Marionettes, Some Kites (A Few Knives)

Varnok - "Anthropogenic"

Set to be released on October 1st, 2021, Anthropogenic is Varnok's new offering; the culmination of the work done throughout the lockdown, which was spent writing and recording new material. Going for the old-school thrash metal sound they had committed to, this time Varnok are also pushing towards a bit of a more technical sound, a positive consequence caused by the departure of their bassist, something that forced the band to act as a two-piece in the interim period and be more productive than ever.

The concept of Anthropogenic presents the idea of human extinction being self-inflicted, as a lot of what is on this EP reflects self-destructive tendencies.
«We tried to make the most of the lockdowns by writing and recording as much as possible», the band comments. «Now that we are out of the dark in that regard, we want to get out there and tour as much as we have the opportunity for, especially places we haven't been.»

Line-up:
Ralex - guitar, bass, vocals
Baca - drums, backing vocals

Tracklist:
Who Goes There
Tickling the Dragon's Tail
Anticop [LISTEN]
Transient Beings
Revenant
The Deluge of Fire

For fans of Sepultura, Dark Angel and Razor.

PLASTIC TEARS RELEASES A NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO!

On October 1st Plastic Tears releases a new video and single for Doomsday Girls. Doomsday Girls is taken from the critically acclaimed ‘Anthems For Misfits’ album that was released earlier this year. It’s clear from the first beats of the song and video that you’re in for an energetic and fun rock’n’roll burst. Friday-Saturday-Sunday-Doomsday!
The video was shot at Suvilahti skatepark and Hietaniemi cemetery in Helsinki. These two surroundings contrast each other well and Elina Laine does an excellent job as the doomsday girl.

Here’s what the critics say:

“From the opening track “Doomsday Girls” it is obvious what we are in for, a good time Rock and Roll time with more than a smattering of Punk attitude.  Honky Tonk piano and low strung guitars and a pounding beat set the tone for what is to come.” - Metal Temple

“We start off with a great one in ‘Doomsday Girls’ with its wonderful sing along punky Hanoi Rocks meets Johnny Thunders vibe. One of my favourites of the year so far.” - The Rockpit

“As soon as the distorted guitars cut loose on the punkish glam rocker, "Doomsday Girls", it is evident the band is picking up right where they left off.  A rollicking piano is thrown into the mix here, adding even more fun to this barroom boogie track that is intentionally messy, exceptionally raw, and unquestionably fun, as Miqu and the boys tear through the album's opening cut and wrap things up in under two-and-a-half minutes!  Things are off and running for Anthems...right from the jump! To me, there is no arguing the talent of the band, as they put on full display with Anthems... an ability to pull off just about any kind of music they want to, and they do it with a Plastic Tears flair.”
