Edge Of Paradise, releases their new studio album, "The Unknown". "The Unknown" is the fourth studio album by the Californian band Edge Of Paradise, recorded immediately after their third album "Universe" which was a resounding success and their debut on the Frontiers Music Srl label. The band partnered with renowned producer Howard Benson (Halestorm, My Chemical Romance, Seether, etc.) who along with Mike Plotnikoff (Halestorm, Three Days Grace) and Neil Sanderson (Three Days Grace) helped the band improve their sound. . The mixing and mastering was done by Jacob Hansen (Amaranthe, Volbeat, Pretty Maids) and he has a foolproof recipe for an album with an impressive sound. Giant hooks combined with monolithic guitar riffs in a wide sea of ​​symphonic sounds that will immediately grab listeners and drive them away on the band's sonic and lyrical journey. The concept of "The Unknown" builds a bit on the previous album "Universe", developing the metallic and symphonic sound of Edge Of Paradise while taking it to the next level. “Concordance of the Legionfall” is the first single from Niagara Falls, ON's Varius’ upcoming EP “Concordance”. The band prides itself on being experimental and incorporating a wide variety of elements from across the metal spectrum and unrelated genres as well. The band explains the lore and musical direction behind the single:

“This track dives back into traditional and familiar Varius territory with its chaotic but exciting structure. There are plenty of groovy riffs as well as several dynamic shifts and trippy moments. The guitar parts and vocals in particular shine on this song and keep the listener occupied as the track goes through its many movements. There are tinges of black and death metal in this track, with progressive twists and psychedelic-sounding transitions. The song concludes as it began, with raging guitar sweeps and brutal vocals. Lyrically, the song describes themes of evil and black magic. The concept was to tell a story of powerful warlocks defeating legions of demons by using their dark powers to “fight fire with fire”. This fictional concept was influenced by the video game World of Warcraft, which some of us in the band are great fans of.”

“Concordance” is all about both diversity and consistency. As a band, they were motivated to include four distinct tracks with each one primarily written by a different band member. The result was a naturally diverse album and yet despite taking this approach, they say it can still be considered their most collaborative release to date. 

Varius formed following the dissolution of a previous band; the name meaning ‘various’ comes from the idea of playing different styles of metal in one band, along with influences from other music. Originally, they started performing as an instrumental group to gather a local fanbase, with keyboards taking the harmonic range. Eventually, the keys were replaced with a vocalist and they became the four-piece they are today.

Heavy and groovy, Varius and their wide range of influence are recommended for fans of Death, Children of Bodom and Hypocrisy.

About 6 years after the official release of their third album 'Dope City', Swiss hard-rock/punk-rockers Operation Blockhead are back in the game with a brand new official music video illustrating the single "Dead Flowers" and available right now on YouTube.   This brand new song will feature on their new full-length album called 'The Desolation Flag' and to be released on october and CD & Digital throuh the main legal platforms (Bandcamp, Apple Music, Spotify...).

....For the record...   Operation Blockhead is a hard rock/punk rock band founded in February 2005 in Châtel-St-Denis (Switzerland). After two shows as a temporary cover band, the four friends realize that despite their terrible lack of talent, they all wanted to keep making music together. They decide to keep going because they all want to get better (not quite there yet) and especially because music is cool ! So the band releases their first EP in 2008, and a 13-track album named “Wanted” in 2010.   Following the planetary success of the album and the departure of a quarter of the team, OB starts playing as a three-piece (you do the math) and releases “The Failed Race for Success” in October 2012. They play a series of gigs such as Balelec, Caprices Festival Off, Long’I’Rock Festival… And perform as opening act for Chris Slade (former AC/CD drummer), John Corabi (former Motley Crüe singer), Bruce Kulick (former Kiss guitarist) and Crucified Barbara.   The band goes on another studio adventure in 2015 and releases a third album called “Dope City” in December. OB gets the opportunity to tour twice in Eastern Europe (#pivo).   In 2017 and after twelve years of good and faithful service, Aurélia (drums) decides to leave the band to start a new life in Italy. Since we all know that pizza and spaghetti beat raclette and fondue, who could blame her?   A new drummer magically appears in 2018 and the story goes on with a fourth album, “The Desolation Flag”, in October 2021 For fans of Green Day, Sum 41, The Offspring, Black Sabbath, Metallica...
