A statement from the band:
The Ascended are taking back Metalcore! The genre “Metalcore” has been claimed by bands that simply do not fit the label. We don’t have a stylistic home because so many bands have adopted the title. We fit closest to thrash bands in this modern era, which is definitely not a bad thing; they riff like we do, but back 15 years ago, in the glory days of true Metalcore, we would fit right along side all of those bands.

If you look at the bands that really owned this genre back in the mid-2000s compared to the bands that are calling themselves Metalcore now, you couldn’t even have them on the same lineup.

We’re here to bring back the riffs to Metalcore, to bring back traditional breakdowns, clean vocal choruses. Everything we love about Classic Metalcore that fans of true Metalcore love, we’re bringing back with this record.

Line-up:
Mat Wale - Lead Vocals & Guitar
Corey Verhaegh - Guitar & Vocals
Braden Dawson - Bass
Jacob Mailes - Drums

Iron Shield Records
TORMENTOR - "Crown Of Shame" - Cover, Tracklist, Release Date: 12th November 2021

The release date of the of the new EP "Crown of Shame" by the German Thrash Metal Band TORMENTOR on CD via IRON SHIELD RECORDS is November 12th, 2021.

With their new EP and fourth overall release, German metal band TormentoR strikes on a new path in their 15 years as a band. This EP is already a highlight in their history. Formed in August 2006, TormentoR can be heard growing up with every new release. They made their first steps at the age of 14 in the year 2008 with their first demo, "Lesson in Aggression.”

Five short songs of pure rough old-school metal in his absolute form. Resulting from this, their debut album "Violent World" continued this way, hailing their favorite bands and giving birth to their own sound.

On their second album, "Morbid Realization,” the band opened the doors for new inspirations and incorporated harmonies, melodies, and a slight peak of other metal genres in their songs. With that first experience, the sound started to grow, and a new level was reached on the new EP. From the old school Thrash Metal of the early days, the band realized their trademarks and put them into new songs, a new sound, and mixed them with new sources of musical inspiration. The title song comes with a heavy midtempo groove, metaphoric and self-reflecting lyrics, and darkened yet beautiful melodies. A song that sets the tone for the overall record and their subsequent musical journeys. On the other hand, TormentoR still loves to thrash things up, like the fast blistering opening track "Welcome to the Depressive Age,” showing their Thrash sound in a more modern and complex style.

They chose "Call to Arms" as the first single since that song combines most of the elements of their new chapter in a song under four minutes. The band offers something entirely new for their style with the two last songs, "Slaved to the Core" and "The Burden and The Grief" . Especially the last song, clocking in at almost ten minutes, is a dark, dooming, melancholic piece of music, with honest and yet painful lyrics. The band already started gathering new ideas, creating the first new songs for their next release. And the latest EP CROWN OF SHAME is just a first taste of what is coming.

TRACKLIST:
1. Welcome To The Depressive Age
2. Crown Of Shame
3. Call To Arms
4. Slaved To The Core
5. The Burden And The Grief
Total Playing Time: 29:58 min

GALAXY premiere new track at "Deaf Forever" magazine's website

Today, Australian heavy metallers Galaxy premiere the new track "Gemini" at Deaf Forever magazine's website. The track is the second to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated debut album, On the Shore of Life, set for international release on November 19th via Dying Victims ProductionsHear Galaxy's "Gemini" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Galaxy are a heavy metal band from Melbourne, Australia. Lost From the Start, their debut EP released in late 2019 by Dying Victims, was a nod to the speed and traditional heavy metal of the 1980s, replete with the furious riffs and high-octane vocals one would demand from the genre. Galaxy are now set to release their follow-up, and first full-length album, On the Shore of Life. This time around, the band has spared no effort to make the music more dynamic and adventurous: the songs exhibit a greater sense of scope and take the listener to darker and colder climes.

Songwriter Stu Callinan (who handles all guitars and bass) and vocalist / lyricist Phillip T. King are joined on the recording by legendary session drummer and special guest Simon Phillips, who over the years has stinted with the likes of Judas Priest, the Michael Schenker Group, The Who, and Jeff Beck. His special guest-performance has created a most powerful foundation for the music to layer upon, lifting Galaxy's new material to heights previously undreamt. And that new material melds Mercyful Fate and Megadeth-style riffing with the melody and song-based focus of Thin Lizzy and ‘70s Judas Priest and the adventurousness of early Fates Warning: On the Shore of Life, indeed!

In a post-covid world where the future of live music remains unpredictable, Galaxy will be back onstage as soon as possible. In the meantime, the spirited performances on this new record do well to propagate Galaxy's tales of joy and madness, of love and loss, of fear and courage… Join Galaxy at the next port of their journey, On the Shore of Life!

The next port can be found with the brand-new track "Gemini" exclusively HERE, courtesy of Deaf Forever, Germany's defenders of the true. The first port can be found with the previously revealed "Bright Stars" exclusively HERE, courtesy NWOTHM. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

GREEN DESERT WATER: Black Harvest Full-Length From Spanish Psychedelic Blues Rock Trio To See Release November 5th Via Small Stone Records; “Too Many Wizards” Now Playing + Preorders Available

Oviedo, Spain-based psychedelic blues rock trio GREEN DESERT WATER will release their third full-length, Black Harvest, on November 5th via Small Stone Records!

Black Harvest is inarguably the band’s most cohesive, classic, and vibe-ready work yet. With the introduction of new drummer Dani Barcena, guitarist/vocalist Kike Sanchís and bassist Juan Arias García unite in classic power trio fashion, building upon the significant accomplishments of 2018’s Solar Plexus with even more flash of heavy blues, psychedelia, and weighted riffery. Can you hang? Of course you can!

Wo Fat’s own Kent Stump sits in on the title-track, which is a fitting centerpiece rife with AC/DC-vs.- Sabbath vitality, following behind the opening salvo of “Sacred Tree” and “Dead Sacred Tree,” which set a tone figuratively and literally for what follows with a focus on melody and songwriting – the catchy “Too Many Wizards” could easily be a state-of-the-union for the heavy rock underground – tempos no less comfortable careening than they are crashing, and a classic sensibility filtered through modern production that leaves the songs full and engaging for the most fickle of attention spans. Later, to be snared by “Shelter Of Guru” is to take a ride in a traditionalist caravan, and both journey and destination satisfy ahead of the capper boogie in “Soul Blind.” Rest assured, you’re about to spend 38 minutes in the presence of masters. Roll with it and be glad you did.

In advance of the release of Black Harvest, GREEN DESERT WATER is streaming “Too Many Wizards” noting, “when the old masters speak, the apprentice wizards must shup up, close their eyes, and open their minds…”

Stream GREEN DESERT WATER’s “Too Many Wizards” HERE.

Black Harvest will be available on CD and digital formats via Small Stone and limited edition LP (deluxe gatefold) via Kozmik Artifactz. Find preorders HERE. Fans of La Chinga, Captain Beyond, Lord Fowl, Black Elephant, and the like pay heed.
