ALIEN FORCE - From The Vaults ( From The Vaults Release: 26 November 2021)

For fans of Riot, Witch Cross & Black Fate.

The wait is over. Finally, classic heavy metal merchants ALIEN FORCE will break the 35-year silence since their last studio album and release a new collection of songs. “We Meet Again” is the eagerly awaited new Alien Force studio album, and it doesn’t disappoint: it’s melodic, it’s tight and it bears that classical sound that made the Danes a band to be reckoned in the international scene. Few bands could hold the pressure of three decades and a half of accumulated expectations, but Alien Force do it in spades!

In 1982, the band currently known as Alien Force started playing music under the name Zeyking. The band was started by the two brothers Henrik Rasmussen (guitar) and Michael Rasmussen (drums) and the style was already then classic heavy metal. Together with Peter Svale Andersen (vocals) and Michael Østerfelt, (bass) Zeyking released the single “Get It Out”.

In 1985 the band changed its name to Alien Force and with a record deal with Telaeg Records, released their first LP “Hell And High Water”. The record is nowadays a classic in the NWOBHM underground, being reprinted several times. Tracks from the record are still used for the live concerts the band plays. In 1986 Alien Force released their second LP “Pain And Pleasure” via their own record company Alien Records, since their previous label had close.

Up through the 90’s it was difficult for the band to hold their breath and try to survive. Band members were replaced, the name and style changed, but it was all in all a difficult period and the band decided to stop after playing at many festivals and club gigs. In 2008, the band was invited to play a reunion concert in the famous rock club The Rock. The concert was a great success and Alien Force once again got blood on their teeth and not least the desire for metal back. Shortly after, the band entered their home studio with new energy and new ideas for songs and got more invitations to play festivals again, but unfortunately their guitarist Michael Wenzel lost his life to cancer and it was a great blow for the band again.

After a long break, in 2018, Alien Force was invited to play Keep It True, one of Germany’s largest underground metal festivals. Alien Force presented themselves with the original line-up from the “Hell And High Water” album and the concert served as a turning point. The band met fans from all over the world, who welcomed them with open arms and showed the band that they have a loyal fan base larger than believed.

In 2020, Alien Force hits the studio again, inspired by the many concerts in Europe after the Keep it True experience. Together with Peter Brander in Media Sound Studio, they have recorded ten new songs ready for an upcoming album to be released by From The Vaults, the new trad heavy metal label with an A&R team composed by Michael Stützer (Artillery), Tom Noble (Tygers Of Pan Tang manager) and Kim Vestergaard (Artillery manager). The title of the album says it all: WE MEET AGAIN

“We Meet Again” will be released on vinyl, CD, and digitally via From The Vaults on 26th November 2021.

LOST REFLECTION – TRAPPED IN THE NET ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Italian Heavy Metal band Lost Reflection’s new album.

Adding a pinch of Italian elegance and production sound to a steady kind of Heavy Metal that also lingers at the frontier with Hard Rock in certain songs, the band has melodic solos, tender ballads and uplifting yet not too energetic tracks cramped into a solid release.

Combining their flamboyant riffs that sometimes even remind of Alice Cooper with a singular vocal performance, interesting songs appear on the full-length, such as “God Of Hate” or “One Night In Your Bed”. The album also has a nice mix of classic and modern Heavy Metal, although this convergence sometimes seems to lack the sufficient charisma as to amalgamate solidly. Nonetheless, the aura of the release seems pretty appealing to any kind of fan of the genre.

I recommend this album to fans of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. My rating is of 8/10.

Swedisch symphonic metal act Emetropia announce first new single "That Fateful Night" from upcoming debutalbum 'Equinox'.....!!!

New single That Fateful Night is OUT September 22nd, 2021

The Swedish symphonic metal act Emetropia announce that their new single That Fateful Night is out now on every major platform! The song is the starting point for the road to their debut album titled Equinox and gives listeners a hint of what lies ahead.

Their keyboardist and main song-writer Liam Strand believes that the new single best represents Emetropia. “It demonstrates the dynamic nature of the band. It has everything from intimate verses, where vocalist Lisa Wallenberg gets to shine together with our progressive drummer Oscar Heikkinen, to bombastic choir sections that pay homage to the pioneers of the genre.”

Lisa explains that That Fateful Night is the song where the album’s “tale within a tale” begins. She says that “listeners of our debut EP have already heard of the kings and their never-ending fight. Now we meet a young boy who is determined to help the kings make peace. With the confidence and naivety that comes with childhood, he sneaks out of his bedroom and enters the moonlit forest, in search of the kings’ realm.”

The song is mixed and mastered by Michele “Meek” Guaitoli (Visions of Atlantis, Temperance) with artwork by Jani Stefanovic. The single is available on all streaming platforms and released independently.

About Emetropia

Emetropia is a symphonic metal band from Linköping, Sweden, formed in 2017. While many bands in the genre choose to lean towards a gothic, dark theme, Emetropia instead focuses on delivering energetic and dynamic metal driven by big orchestras and choirs. Together with intricate and modern songwriting inspired by many power and progressive metal acts, they are sure to make anyone who loves bands like Epica, Therion, or Amorphis eager for more.

Their upcoming debut album Equinox brings the full Equinox Saga, which was teased in their debut EP - Procession of the Kings - with all EP tracks also being “re-imagined” and re-recorded. With years of new experiences and the help of producer Michele Guaitoli, Equinox promises the old listener a completely new listening experience of already beloved songs, and introduces new listeners to the future of Swedish symphonic metal.
