AEXYLIUM - The Fifth Season (ROCKSHOTS Records 29 October 2021)

For fans of Eluveitie, Korpiklaani, Alestorm

Rockshots Records is proud to announce their latest signing of Aexylium for their new album "The Fifth Season" due out October 2021.

Mixing traditional folk instruments (Flute, Violin, Bouzouki) with the modern symphonic metal, Aexylium's sophomore full length follows 2018's "Tales From This Land" (Underground Symphony Records) and their 2016 self-produced EP “The Blind Crow“. "Tales From This Land" has had over 110k streams on Spotify along with its powerful single "Revive the Village’ placing on the top 200 metal song charts in Germany on Apple Music. Aexylium has also released fan-praised covers of Game of Thrones and Vikings main themes with reinterpreted folk metal sounds.

Their new album "The Fifth Season" is a concrete step towards growth and musical maturity with its offering of festive ballads, tighter riffs, advanced orchestrations and heavier dark songs that are all inspired by Norse Mythology. The record also features guest vocals from Samuele Faulisi (Atlas Pain), Arianna Bellinaso and the members of Coro Facoltà di Musicologia Vocal Ensemble. The album was recorded at Twilight Studio by Davide Tavecchia with the artwork done by Yan Yrlund of Darkgrove Design (Manowar, Testament, Korpiklaani).

The band adds:
"We are very excited to start this collaboration with Rockshots Records. We think fans will be thrilled with this album; there are elaborate orchestrations, riffs and fun folk metal. Plus the addition of vocals from Arianna Bellinaso (Coro Facoltà di Musicologia Vocal Ensemble) and Samuele Faulisi add so much more! We definitely wanted to compose songs without setting limits in terms of composition, so each song will sound unique and different from one another."

Aexylium has also released fan-praised covers of Game of Thrones and Vikings main themes with reinterpreted folk metal sounds.

Since their inception in 2014, the Varese, Italy band has performed at renowned festivals in Europe such as Dumeltica International Music Festival, Montelago Celtic Festival, Malpaga Folk & Metal, Rock Inn Somma, Druidia and Strigarium along with sharing the stage with Elvenking, Wind Rose, Nervosa, Furor Gallico, Temperance and more. In August 2020, despite Covid restrictions, Aexylium was chosen by the city of Milan to perform at the historical Castello Sforzesco.

The band adds:
“This work is the result of different approaches toward music, and different interests between the members of the band. For example, “An Damhsa Mór” – one of our completely acoustic pieces - reflects the interest of our flutist for Irish tradition and Gaeilge, while “Yggrdasil” is obviously a reference to Norse mythology, which our singer is passionate about. The title track is dedicated to something we would prefer to avoid, but, on the contrary, since the world we are facing is showing its environmental and social limits, the song “The Fifth Season” seems to express all our doubts and anxieties toward the future.”

2ND SINGLE:
Italian symphonic folk metallers Aexylium have unleashed their latest video for the title track from their forthcoming album "The Fifth Season" due out October 29th, 2021 via Rockshots Records.

The title track tells through the lyrics and the music an initial restlessness, which leads to a feeling of hope and rebirth towards the end. The song also expresses doubts about the future, also considering the human impact on the planet.

“The experience of hearing ‘Tales from this Land’ is a wonderful voyage through time and music at the same time” – Metal Temple (9/10)

“They just need to keep honing the direction, it’s on the right track for sure! I’m not even a big fan of folk metal, but I just became a fan of Aexylium!” – BucketList (9/10)

“A significantly well done, fun and excellent debut album if you love this genre of music” – Metalwave (80/100)

“‘Tales from this Land’ is not afraid of foreign competition and shows, together with a handful of CDs released in recent months, great talent” – Mister Folk (8/10)

“The first song of their concert is unmistakable for those who have followed this TV series, I’m obviously talking about ‘Game of Thrones’ and is welcomed by an ovation from the crowd, that is getting bigger under the stage … They are eight on the stage and the energy they spread is perceived and celebrated several times by the horn sounds among the crowd” – Malpaga 2016 live report by Metalpit

“Aexylium from Varese, a band that I personally had never listened live and that turned out to be a pleasant discovery … The crowd is jumping, and even though their show is at the hottest time of the day, the audience for them is consistent, and it is undeniable that they appreciate the exhibition” – Malpaga 2016 by Suoni Distorti Magazine

A English Woman In Spain/ Tracey Lamb (Rock Goddess/Girlschool) Review by Javier Barba Vallejo

Today, the last day of our vacation in Torrox (Malaga), a town where we came to stop by GPS error on our way to Malaga city and then to Cadiz.
As we left the road to eat at the "Chiringuito Laguna" of which we have been regulars these 9 days, two of which we have lengthened our stay and Ana went out to smoke while I finished devouring the food, she saw an apartment on the beach in rent to which I call and in it we finally planted ourselves, stopping our route.
Totally in love with the area of Torrox Costa, on the second or third day while I was lying on the beach a "flash" came to me ... Torrox .... Torrox ...
And I thought ... Torrox is not where Tracey Lamb lives
mythical bassist of the great Rock Goodess and Girlschool ??? ....

I checked it, since I have it among my friends on Facebook and I made a small post in which I named her without any pretense and to which Tracey replied with a "like" and a brief comment of "Enjoy" (Enjoy), to which she Others happened in which he asked us about our stay and how would we stay for a few beers ..... and we were delighted !!!!
Well today was the day of this meeting at the El Faro Bar.
We went to the appointment fearing for understanding due to our poor English and it must be said that Tracy is a fantastic woman, very close and above all hilarious with whom we have laughed a lot and spent an unforgettable time speaking "Spainglish" about our lives. , how happy and calm she lives with her dogs and cats in Torrox, in love with the area for 13 years, about her good friendship with Rock Goodess and her fellow Grilschool, about her passion, the desire to go out and play live with Girlschool across the five continents, to see if at the end of the year they can resume their tour with Alcatrazz, etc ... it has been such a friendly and enjoyable meeting among what seemed like lifelong friends, so she herself said "that we Heavy Metal fans are a great family around the world". That we have met at 1:00 p.m. and we have had beers until 5 o'clock when we have entered to eat at the Laguna beach bar until almost 7 p.m. !!!!!

It has been an unforgettable evening that we have enjoyed with a great woman and a new friend who infects her energy and sympathy.
When we said goodbye, we all knew that it was not a goodbye, if things do not go wrong we will see each other in January at the Hammersmith (Now Apollo) concert in London with Saxon and if not on a tour that Girlschool come here and it That is for sure, is that we will return to Torrox because we have loved it and that here we have a dear friend whom we will visit without fail !!!!!
Thank you very much for your kindness and sympathy Tracey !!!!!

CHRONICLE - Undivided / Born From A Coffin Womb (single) - Mighty Music 1 October 2021

For fans of Children Of Bodom, The Black Dahlia Murder and (early) Dark Tranquillity.

The pandemic is slowly dying away, but while the world got turned upside down, CHRONICLE spent the time in isolation brewing up a deadly cocktail of new material! "Undivided" and "Born From A Coffin Womb" are two new and distinctly different singles, which the band feels represent a good taste of what people will be able to expect from Chronicle in the future. Catchy melodies, ferocious speed and crushing brutal riffs, which will satisfy the metal-craving listener to the fullest. Recorded by Tue Madsen (Meshuggah, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Haunted) at Antfarm Studios and mixed/mastered by the legendary Fredrik Nordström (At The Gates, In Flames, Soilwork).

Hailing from the northern part of Denmark, Chronicle is the bastard child of melodic death metal and old-school thrash metal with a healthy amount of technical elements thrown in for good measure. Technical riffs and lightning-fast drums are par for the course when it comes to Chronicle's music. They have two albums under their belts (2015's "Primordial Fear" and 2020's "Demonology"), with an EP released at the beginning of their career ("Welcome The Darkness", 2014) and another one in between both albums ("Memento Mori", 2016). Now, "Undivided/Born From A Coffin Womb" starts a new chapter for the band and takes the music to a darker and heavier place than ever before.

"Undivided / Born From A Coffin Womb", will be digitally released on October 1st via Mighty Music.

Line-up:
Lars Bo Nepper: guitar/vocals
Jari Sielemann Holopainen: drums
Sebastian Skousgaard: guitar
Jacob Wammen: bass
