Enthrallment - Against The Will To Live - Sky Burial (Death Metal From Bulgaria)

Release Date: September 25, 2021

FFO: Suffocation, Entombed, Immolation

Enthrallment started their existence at the end of the 90s- at the zenith of the death metal industry. In the summer of 1998 the band gathered the complete set of musicians and started a serious work on their first songs. A year later the band realized these songs into their first demo.

Enthrallment distinguish from most of the death metal bands in the world with their originality. You never know what these guys will serve you in the next album. Also , they precisely mix USA and European death metal together with some kind of a more different sound and this makes them unique in the genre of death metal.
Many musicians have played in the band and every one of them has left their style in the band's music and it can be seen in each release of the band.

Their first concerts outside the borders of Bulgaria happened in the year 2004 when on the Serbian festival “Hellhammer” they shared the stage with the Czech band Hypnos and only a few days earlier they had gathered a great number of fans in one of the clubs for extreme music in Bucharest. They also had concerts on the same stage with Destruction, Obituary, Deicide, Vital Remains, Napalm Death, Mystic Circle and many more...
It’s also worth mentioning their tour with  Malevolent Creation, Rotting Christ and Rotten Sound . In 2011 they played on the Obscene Extreme Festival .

Enthrallment were formed in times of political and social turbulence. In these times the band went through a lot of changes and now they are moving forward, keep on creating new works of depravity.

HOLLOW Announce New Album "The Tower" + Streaming Title Track

Rockshots Records is proud to announce they will once again be releasing the next recording from Swedish power prog band HOLLOW, lead by Andreas Stoltz (ex-Binary Creed). Entitled "Tower", the fourth album follows 2019's “Between Eternities of Darkness”, which marked the band's return after a 20-year hiatus since unleashing the 1999 album “Architects of The Mind” via Nuclear Blast Records.

Featuring 10 tracks, "Tower" is a story album best listened to as a whole, which tells a tale of transformation with its blend of progressive metal/rock, power, melodic death and thrash elements. Andrea Stoltz is accompanied by drummer Stalder Zantos who also appeared on “Between Eternities of Darkness”.

"Working with Stalder Zantos has been a more continuous element in writing the material for Tower than on Between Eternities of Darkness and this has definitely influenced the outcome as has contributed more on this album than on the previous one," adds Stoltz.

On HOLLOW's "Architect of the Mind" artificial intelligence and creation was the topic, on "Between Eternities of Darkness" parenthood and tragedy and for "Tower" the concept of inner and outer freedom is explored. It’s also about belonging and transcendence and Stoltz hopes these are things that most people can relate to.

"The relating bit is important, since art - regardless of form - is a meeting of emotions and ideas. It needs to find something to resonate within the person who takes part in it. When asked, I find it hard to describe the music, but it’s metal. It has distorted guitars, double bass drums and harks back to bands like Judas Priest and Queensryche. But there is also quite a bit of contemporary metal on Tower. Since this is a concept album with the ambition of conveying a story, listening to it as a whole is encouraged. I hope you can find something that resonates with you on it. Hopefully, HOLLOW’s fans will be able to trace today's music back to Modern Cathedral and Architect of the Mind. I’ve made an effort to keep it as straightforward and simple as possible. I think most fans will have no trouble recognizing it as HOLLOW." comments Stoltz.

In preview to the "Tower" release on November 26th, HOLLOW is revealing the album's title track as the first single. It's a traditional metal song with some nice riffing and a catchy chorus. The song's tale is about the protagonist who grows up in seclusion and their contact with the world outside the Tower is limited to their guardian/teacher.

Stoltz explains the title track in further detail:

“Tower (the title track of the album) was one of the first songs to be completed and it’s also a great representation of the album as well as HOLLOW’s music. I wanted to write a record that was a bit more uplifting than the previous one and it all fell into place when I realized that Tower (the album) was going to be a kind of fantasy story. But also about inner change. In a sense, we’re all trapped in our towers, ie our minds. This song started the writing process of the whole album.”

These Streets - Roll Tha Dice - (Metallic Hardcore)

FFO: Merauder, All Out War, Hatebreed

THESE STREETS goes straight for the jugular with “Roll Tha Dice”.

These Streets is an unrelenting metallic hardcore assault from Northern California. Starting out in 2013, this quintet, with members from the Central Valley and the Bay Area, has never followed the trend and is known for pushing the envelope with their hard-hitting musical style and diverse lyrical messaging.

2020 saw the release of Expect The Worst, which was a darker, more metallic take on their sound. For their 6th studio release, “Roll Tha Dice”, These Streets takes their sound to another level that is sure to punch you in your mouth and rip you apart.

“Take The Risk” is the first single off of “Roll Tha Dice” and will premiere on August 13th with a video.

Vocalist, Cam Ross describes “Take The Risk” as a call out to those that walk that fine line between friend or foe - “Yo this song is about fools who think shit is sweet and don’t think I don’t hear the shit they talk, so when they see me in person and try to hit me with that fake love, well … you know how that goes.”

Check them out on Spotify and add them to your playlists!
“Roll Tha Dice” will be released on September 17, 2021 on CD through Upstate Records and digitally through Blood Blast Distribution. The CD will contain four unreleased, never been heard tracks.

PHANTOM FIRE premiere new track at "Legacy" magazine's website - features members of GAAHLS WYRD, KRAKOW

Today, uprising Norwegian metallers  Phantom Fire premiere the new track "Sweet Jezebel" at Legacy magazine's website. The track is the second to be revealed from the band's  highly anticipated debut album, The Bust of Beelzebub, set for international release on October 22nd via Edged Circle Productions. Hear Phantom Fire's "Sweet Jezebel" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

It was but May 2021 when a brand-new entity burst from Bergen, Norway, bearing the all-too-apropos moniker Phantom Fire. With members hailing from such bands as Gaahls Wyrd and Krakow, the duo surprisingly went a different route with their debut EP, Return of the Goat. Hard-rocking, hard-charging, reeking of rust and diesel, Phantom Fire proved they were their own band removed from any sort of lineal references. Better yet, perhaps, they were just getting started and already promised a debut full-length...

Before the dust of Return of the Goat even had a chance to clear, that debut album is finally here: The Bust of Beelzebub! Flexing the same chops and some new ones, Phantom Fire's first full-length salaciously spans pitch-black speed metal and moody epic metal alike, all of it in (evil) obeisance to timeless HEAVY METAL magick. At once decades old and years ahead of the game, The Bust of Beelzebub bears an ageless wisdom across its succinct seven-song/29-minute runtime, like Aura Noir jamming out on some Cirith Ungol covers or early Omen getting turned onto the Swedish Cranium, and vice versa - on and on, ad infinitumexcelsior! Nevertheless, some interesting twists crop up in the most unselfconscious ways, like the spattering of spiraling psychedelic guitar or solemn Viking-dirge acoustics, altogether making for a wild ride across the hinterlands of the frozen Norwegian tundra...all before it's lit afire!

With stout and richly analog recording courtesy of Iver Sandøy (Enslaved) at Solslottet Studio in Bergen and deliciously warped cover art by Nifelheim's Hellbutcher, Phantom Fire's The Bust of Beelzebub is an exceptionally unique take on the traditional. The band will be making their live debut at this year's Beyond the Gates: Uprising festival in Bergen on August 6th.

In the meantime, hear the brand-new track "Sweet Jezebel" exclusively HERE, courtesy of Legacy, Germany's premier extreme metal authority. Also see the previously revealed video for "Feed on Fire" exclusively HERE, courtesy of Decibel magazine. Preorder info can be found HERE at Edged Circle's Bandcamp. Aforementioned cover art and tracklisting are as follows:

Ohio, USA based project UNTAMED LAND – the world’s very first metal band incorporating the feral sounds of classic, old western cinematics – recently announced its sophomore release, Like Creatures Seeking Their Own Forms, scheduled for release via Napalm Records on October 8, 2021.

Today, following soaring recent single, “Clothed In Smoke”UNTAMED LAND has revealed a second single, entitled "A Nameless Shape", alongside an official music video. The track blends ghostly acoustics, doom-drenched riffs and icy screams as it cascades into a wave of blast beats, rhythmic guitars and operatic accent vocals, making it one of the key epics on the record!

Project mastermind Patrick Kern says about the track:
"With a thundering march-like drum pattern and aggressive full chord guitar strumming, the first two minutes of this song set the stage for the rest of the album. The lyrics tell a tale of isolation and spiritual crisis set against the backdrop of the mythical Old West. This video only serves as a teaser however, and you will have to pick up the album itself to see how the story for this song ends."

Watch the official music video for “A Nameless Shape”  HERE:

While exploring influence and nuances from various strains of atmospheric metal, UNTAMED LAND traverses wild new frontiers – evoking the ambiance of classic Ennio Morricone/Spaghetti Western soundtracks and traditional old western instrumentals. While some listeners may be quick to label this a purely black metal album before diving into its depths, this description only scratches the surface.

UNTAMED LAND mastermind, composer and sole performer of all instruments (except for accented violin performances by Rita Torrens and vocal contributions by Caroline Joy and Jacob Wherley), Patrick Kern, was initially inspired by what he describes as pagan, cosmic and even “doomy” black metal when writing the album, but the material bloomed in a way that is much more multifaceted to be categorized so singularly.

Patrick Kern adds about the album:
“I would hesitate to call this a black metal album. It's meant to be a cinematic journey into a dark and fantastical old west setting, and various genres and sounds are used to bring that story to life. Lyrically, whereas the previous album dealt with the eternal struggle of the solar hero, this time we delve into a sort of gnostic "Beauty and the Beast" story, ultimately revolving around the feminine role in creation and the tension between the world of matter and the world of forms.

The album ended up reflecting my own spiritual journey that occurred all throughout the writing and production process. I had a great time experimenting with many different styles and sounds for this release and am excited to share this new chapter in the UNTAMED LAND world!"

Following the underground success of its 2018 debut, Between The WindsLike Creatures Seeking Their Own Forms is unique in all its facets – not only is it original, inspiring and an impressively eclectic album, it’s poised to cast the name UNTAMED LAND on the lips of every experimental metal fan upon its release. In a dry landscape of repetitive noise as far as the eye can see, Like Creatures Seeking Their Own Forms is an aural oasis.

Grave - "Hating Life" (re-released)

Listen "Hating Life"

Label: MDD Records
Release: 25. June 2021
Format: CD-Audio (Jewel Case)

Swedish Death Metal reigns supreme…

When the name Grave is mentioned in connection with death metal, other band names inevitably come to mind: Unleashed. Dismember and Entombed. Together they are something like the "Big Four" of the "Death Metal made in Sweden movement" at the beginning of the nineties and thus still form the pinnacle of this genre.

After their third, and stylistically rather unusual album "Soulless", the path they took in the mid-nineties was continued on the 96 album "Hating Life". From then on, band head Ola Lindern took over the vocals as well as the guitar and was to shape the image of the "new" Grave from then on. On the following tour through Europe and America, the live album "Extremely Rotten Live" was recorded, before the band went into a Sleeping Beauty sleep for six years, only to come back "Back From The Grave", completely renewed and in keeping with the title.

With "Hating Life", a document of the time is re-released, which still shows the band in its original state and cements why this band is one of the "Big Four". Even if the name comes from another band of the "Big Four", one thing above all is characteristic on this album: Death Metal Victory!
