These Colors Fade - 'Contemporary Tragedy' (January 29 Release)

One-man melodic post-hardcore band THESE COLORS FADE will release new album Contemporary Tragedy on January 29.

The brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Keelan Donahue, who handled everything from the music to the artwork, Contemporary Tragedy is the third release from THESE COLORS FADE. The album follows the 2020 EP Pentamerous Laceration and the debut full-length The Attrition Complex (2018). Keelan’s newest effort takes the listener on a 10-track journey that blurs the lines between progressive metal, avante garde and abstract thought.

Keelan comments on the album, “‘Contemporary Tragedy’ is about loss and how it transforms people in different ways. It was originally intended to be a short story told in album form. Instead, it became a theme album touching on not only loss, but what a person can become after losing what they believe to be everything. A combination of progressive and posthardcore births interesting and unique musicianship while pushing genre boundaries. Over 800 hours were spent writing and recording this album.”

Contemporary Tragedy was written, performed, recorded, edited, mixed and mastered by Keelan Donahue.

PESTIS CULTUS premiere new track at NoCleanSinging.com - features members of SNORRI

Today, Australian black metal cult Pestis Cultus premiere the new track "Black Tongue Hymn" at heavily trafficked web-portal NoCleanSinging.com. The track is the second to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated debut album, fittingly self-titled, set for international release on February 12th via Signal Rex. Hear Pestis Cultus' "Black Tongue Hymn" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Formerly known as Snorri - who delivered a demo and EP through Signal Rex as well as a split through brother label Harvest of Death, all during the years 2016 and 2017 - Pestis Cultus is the renewed audial manifestation brought forth by three lifetime friends and musicians from Perth, Australia, whose works have already been deeply carved in the worldwide underground black metal scene across various other projects. However, now officially as Pestis Cultus, the trio hold firm to the hideousness which marked Snorri's sadly short-lengthed recordings but ripen that rottenness to an exquisitely foul degree.

Indeed, the sound of Pestis Cultus is like that of  a moss-covered gravestone exploding - in violent fast-forward and tortured slow-motion simultaneously. Proudly raw in their exploits but by no means unrehearsed - quite the opposite, in fact - Pestis Cultus exhume ancient expressions of black metal and proceed to profane them in their own style and with their own voice. That voice & style could blithely be summarized as "putrid-satanic-necro-terrorizing-black (death) metal," proudly from Australia and in its purest form, but lurk within the 31 minutes comprising their first full-length and one will find catacombs and corridors bursting with rancid, rebel spirit: the past only exists not to be tethered to, but to defile and exploit at will. In short, Pestis Cultus is paradoxically uncompromising and open-minded, fuck-off traditional and FUCK-YOU unorthodox.

Rounded out by a booming 'n' ghostly recording sharpened by Henri (Moonsorrow) Sorvali's mastering, layout by Heresie Graphic Design Studio, and intro & outro featuring the one and only Mortiis, Pestis Cultus' self-titled debut album is a stunner highly recommended for old souls and restless ones alike.

Hear for yourself with the brand-new track "Black Tongue Hymn" exclusively HERE, courtesy of NoCleanSinginging.com. And then head "To the Old Ruins" HERE at Signal Rex's official YouTube channel. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

CELLAR TWINS - Duality ( Progressive /Alternative rock/Belgium)

Belgium's  CELLAR TWINS To Re-Release Album "DUALITY"
Re-Release Date January 29, 2021 via Rockshots Records

Formed in 2014, Cellar Twins debut their first sounds in 2017 with their debut self-titled EP and lead single/ music video "My Shell". The EP was the band's stepping stone to greatness with its heavy rock riffs, soaring lead lines, deep lyrics and just all-around good time listen with its Belgian progressive / alternative rock flare.

Over the years, Cellar Twins have offered fans an intense journey into a unique universe where light and darkness, passion and rebellion all combine to showcase a multitude of musical horizons and assert itself as a new image of rock music.  They have appeared on multiple Belgian festivals such as the Kraken Metal Festival, Bear Rock, and American Rock Festival plus have participated in Wacken Open Air's Metal Battles.

Belgian melodic rockers CELLAR TWINS unleashed their compelling full length "Duality". Not only was it independently released, but also supported by their fans with a crowd funding campaign. Garnering rave reviews and a strong following, the record caught the attention of Rockshots Records for a re-release this coming January 29, 2021.

Rockshots Records comments on the signing: ""When the band came to our attention, we were stunned by how much talent these guys (and girl) have, and we had no doubts about signing them. We think that everyone out there should listen to this great album, and we'll be working hard to make this happen. Much more is coming in the near future!""

"Duality" is a combination of ten infectious hook laden tracks that blends raging modern instrumentals with powerful yet clear vocals, that can be enjoyed by laidback rockers to full-on metalheads.

Can rock music be renewed? Cellar Twins makes it a clear yes thanks to their new album, ‘Duality’. Using their typical two-sided universe, Cellar Twins manages to offer a combination of powerful and catchy tunes as well as deep soul trips. Blending raging modern instrumentals with powerful yet clear vocals, ‘Duality’ is a one-of-a-kind record that has the potential to be enjoyed by all from laidback rockers to full-on metalheads.

Depiction of life itself with all its uplifting and crushing moments, expressed with anger, fear, joy, and doubts, "Duality" is a deep internal exploration where two messages arise. The first one being that each story always has two sides and the second one being, that even when going through hell, hope must always prevail.

"Listening to Duality is like getting a free ticket for an intense journey into a unique universe where light and darkness combine." adds the band.

In support of the re-release of "Duality", Cellar Twins is sharing a new music video for the track "Millenium". An authoritative song where the intricate nature of toxic relationships is explored.

"Like severing a dying limb, it’s about fighting against both yourself and others to seek redemption, whatever the cost might be."

Escarion - Pillars of the Faith (Death Metal/Australia)

Australia’s death metal newcomers Escarion are proud to release the lyric video for the song Greed. The debut full-length album Pillars of the Faith is scheduled for independent worldwide release on Friday, the 29th of January.

The album is based off the ‘Seven Deadly Sins’, taking that concept from Christianity and arguing that this notion is false and oppressive. The band states: “These are not ‘sins’, instead they are human nature. Yes, excess of any of these sins may be immoral and unethical however, that can be said of any action or emotion in excess. Greed outlines that this primitive desire of wanting more than the confines of our life circumstances, the power of greed to create ethical and sustainable change contrasted with the evil of excess greed, creating a system that is so inherently corrupt that it literally feeds off the blood of the people. It is ironic that possibly the only way to destroy this system of greed is a greedy lust for change within humanity, greed for more and for humanity to flourish so we may live our lives in harmony within ourselves and our communities.” Now it’s time for Greed!

Line-up:
Johnny Arhondis - Lead Vocalist & Guitarist
Tommy Lewko - Guitarist
Tim Bottams - Drummer & Percussion
Rhys McKenzie - Bass & Backing Vocals

Escarion is a 4-piece Melbourne-based Death Metal band following in the eclectic vein of bands like Death, Behemoth and Trivium to form a sound that is altogether brutal, progressive and confronting. Initially forming as Thrash Metal outfit Vintage Ruin under guitarist John Arhondis, bassist Rhys McKenzie and drummer Jon McGivern, the band quickly introduced Death and Black Metal elements to their sound, forming the foundation for what would become Escarion. The band expanded further, adding Tommy Lewko, formerly of Omegacron and Tyrant’s Blood, as a second guitarist and, with the departure of McGivern, recruiting Tim Bottams on drums, bringing a progressive flair to their already-burgeoning sound. Having recently completed their debut album ‘Pillars of the Faith’, Escarion seeks to explore the conceptual meaning behind the seven deadly sins. Their new single 'Greed' is out now, in preparation for the album’s full release.
