RAGE IN MY EYES is a heavy metal band from Brazil. The band’s first album was recorded in 2017 and 2018, partially in Los Angeles and partially in their native Porto Alegre, Brazil. For 17 years the band went under the name Scelerata, which had a huge history in the Brazilian heavy metal scenario. The band had three albums released worldwide, including the acclaimed album “The Sniper” – partially recorded in Germany, at the Blind Guardian studio – that featured guest appearances from Paul DiAnno (former Iron Maiden) and Andi Deris (Helloween).

Scelerata was also Paul DiAnno’s official Brazilian backing band from 2009 to 2014, playing 50+ shows with this heavy metal icon. With this huge background, the musicians are now aiming for the future. RAGE IN MY EYES introduces to the world a unique kind of music. Being from southern Brazil, the band shows a side of the country most people don’t know about. Blending heavy/prog metal with elements of milonga – which is a music genre from southern Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina – the band presents a never-heard metal before.

In the albums “Darkness and Light” (2006) and “Skeletons Domination” (2008) (released as Scelerata), the band had already inserted instruments such as accordion in their songs. Renowned gaucho musician Renato Borghetti recorded the harmonica on the band’s first album and accordionist Matheus Kléber was featured on the second album. In the new song, “Death Sleepers” there is again the participation of accordionist Matheus Kleber. This is a trend that should improve in the near future. This mix of styles occurs naturally, depending on the roots of the band. Magnus Wichmann, guitarist and composer of the band, is the grandson of the legendary gaucho musician Teixeirinha.

Guitarist Magnus Wichmann, the grandson of acclaimed Southern Brazilian folk musician Teixeirinha, highlights the arrangements of milonga and accordion present on the album: “In previous albums we had already added these elements and we saw that they combined very well with our style and compositions, and best of all, is that fans have approved these experiments. We want to present something new and, in the future, we will come up with more ideas.”

RAGE IN MY EYES’ new album, entitled “Ice Cell”, has just been made available on all digital platforms. “Ice Cell” was recorded between 2017 and 2018 in the cities of Los Angeles (USA) and Porto Alegre (Brazil) and was produced by Magnus Wichmann at Magneto Studio (Brazil) and Daufembach Studio (USA). It was mixed and mastered in Los Angeles by the renowned Brazilian producer Adair Daufembach. The cover was designed by Tiago Masseti, who has worked with Hibria, Luis Kalil and Daydream XI. According to the band, the graphic art seeks to show the mascot Sage in a darker mood: “We wanted to present a more realistic Sage, with a strong expression and at the same time that seemed marked by life; we brought him closer to us.”.
Drummer Francis Cassol’s recent move to the United States has helped the band strengthen relationships with producer Adair Daufembach. “Recording here in the US with Adair was an amazing experience. We have achieved impressive results in terms of sound, and I’m sure it will please our fans and metal fans in general.” Jonathas Pozo (vocals), Magnus Wichmann, and Leo Nunes (guitars), and Pedro Fauth (bass) keep the Brazilian base active and are setting the stage for the opening show for Iron Maiden on October 9 at Gremio Stadium in Porto Alegre.

“Ice Cell” is an independent release, initially out only on digital download and streaming platforms, as Jonathas Pozo explains: “We recently had a successful crowdfunding campaign that surpassed the goal and allowed us to make the ‘Death Sleepers’ video. We are looking into the possibility of a new campaign for a physical album distribution, offering different kits and packages to the fans.”

ROADWOLF – UNCHAIN THE WOLF ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Austrian Heavy Metal band Roadwolf’s debut album.

The album starts with an instant classic and definitely their best track, “All Hell Is Breaking Loose”. In this song as in most of the album, there’s a natural feeling in their Heavy Metal that perhaps even tends towards Glam Rock, for some songs remind of MötleyCrüe’s“Too Fast For Love”.

Overall though, the style played is very similar to NWOBHM, especially Judas Priest (notably on the title track) and Saxon (notably on “Roadwolf”). There are also some elements of Teutonic Heavy Metal and hints of Iron Maiden on some flagrant melodies, and this album is surely a masterpiece of modern Heavy Metal. It’s as if it was composed in the 80’s, and this band has a lot of potential that will leave us eager for more of their music. They have every element necessary for a Heavy Metal band: great looks, cool music videos, denim, leather, silly lyrics about how nice it is to be a rocker, catchy choruses and classy riffs. Other highlights from this album besides the previously mentioned songs would be “M.I.A.” and “Wheels Of Fire”, but each track is memorable in its own way and playing the whole album is definitely worth it.

I recommend this album to fans of Heavy Metal and Glam Rock. My rating is of 9,5/10.

WITCHSEEKER premiere new track at "Deaf Forever" magazine's website, set release date for new DYING VICTIMS album

On March 26th internationally, Dying Victims Productions will release Witchseeker's highly anticipated second album, Scene of the Wild, on CD and vinyl LP formats. And today, Deaf Forever magazine's website premieres the new track"Scene of the Wild." Hear Witchseeker's title track "Scene of the Wild" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Hailing from Singapore, Witchseeker formed in late 2012, originally as a one-man project by Sheikh Spitfire. By the time of the band’s first EP, 2014’s Night Rituals, Witchseeker had expanded to a trio but was then pared back to a duo for their debut album, 2017’s When the Clock Strikes, with Brandon Speedranger on guitars and Sheikh Spitfire on vocals, bass, and drums.

While traditional metal is not often associated with Singapore, Witchseeker gained the attention of their national scene with a classics-minded style of heavy metal that’s packed with power, speed, melody, and aggression. Legions have joined their cause, and over the years, Witchseeker have shared stages with such bands as Firehouse, Enforcer, Destruction, Midnight, Exciter, and many more.

Come 2019, Witchseeker expanded to a quartet with the joining of Aip Sinner on drums and Nick Stormbringer on guitars. With this bolstered lineup, the band then wrote and recorded their second full-length, Scene of the Wild. Aptly titled, Scene of the Wild stylistically spans Sunset Strip hot-rockin’ and classy, cruising speed metal alike, all with the finesse and deftness of devotees of all that’s timeless and true. Each of these 10 tracks in an anthem unto itself, but each one offers something equally unique. Not here will you find one big blur of sameness: “Lust for Dust” is like a runaway train, while “Nights in Tokyo” offers space, shade, and a yearning heart; “Rock This Night Away” does exactly what it says, while the title track is a ballroom blitz; “Screaming in the Moonlight” is a steady night-time strut, while “Candle in the Dark” struts to a darker, more personal pulse; and plenty more to be experienced elsewhere. Keeping things true, Witchseeker don’t let proceedings get too slick, retaining a rawness of approach and authenticity of spirit, together giving Scene of the Wild a “scrappy underdog” aspect not unlike Mötley Crüe’s Too Fast for Love.

Witchseeker are a promising band from a small country, just now realizing the depth of their potential. Graced with literally awesome cover art courtesy of Mario Lopez, Scene of the Wild is a vision of heavy metal revolution!

Join the revolution with the brand-new title track "Scene of the Wild" exclusively HERE, courtesy of Deaf Forever, Germany's defenders of the true. Aforementioned cover art and tracklisting are as follows:

A Day in Venice release new video for "Vintage Variation"

After the release of two singles "TWIOYS" and "Ophidian Queen", taken from A Day in Venice’s forthcoming full-lenght album, italian alternative metal outfit, aka Andrej Kralj, have released a new video for the song "Vintage Variation", taken from their latest EP released last year.

"Vintage Variation" features heavy guitars and the delicate vocals of Jyi, and is about embracing new ways, different mindsets and finding the strenght to carry on.

“How can one adapt and confront with changes, distress and trauma in life without wearing the burden of memory?”

Andrej Kralj, the man behind A Day in Venice, is currently working on two new albums. His fourth full-lenght, written, arranged, performed and produced by himself, with the participation of Angelos Kyprianos on vocals, will feature new songs arranged with acoustic healing instruments, unusual sounds and instrumentation. There have been above 30 different acoustic instruments employed so far.

A fifth album will likely follow and take the musical direction of  the song “Vintage Variation”.

Exclusive Premiere: Thorium Release New Song And Music Video 'Where Do We Go'

Thorium Release New Song And Music Video Where Do We Go

Off their long-awaited second album Empires in the Sun
THORIUM release their first official video single Where Do We Go, off their long-awaited second album Empires in the Sun. The music video was directed and filmed by Sebastiaan Spijker, from a concept and story by Tom Tee. Both the song and the video muse on the question posed in the track’s title and explore the notion of whether one can ever be truly certain of where to head to, whatever one’s stage or station in life.

The second THORIUM album Empires in the Sun will be released March 5th 2021via Freya Records. The record is now available for pre-order via Bandcamp.

For the epic trilogy '1302' the band acquired the help of several renowned guest vocalists: Arjen Anthony Lucassen (Ayreon), Benny 'Zors' Willaert (23 Acez), Joe Van Audenhove (Evil Invaders) and Anneleen Olbrechts. Moreover, Norman Eshley (Blind Guardian) lent his warm voice to provide the narration on a selection of songs.

About the song
“The song ruminates on that arguably greatest of all life questions: which path to choose. Can you ever truly be certain that a given road, often picked among so many others, was the right one to travel by? Choices that not seldom seemed so right at the onset may just come back to haunt you, years or even decades after.
For all the drama this subject might seem to entail, though, the song is decidedly (and wilfully) upbeat, both lyrically and musically. Never wanting to succumb to overly gloomy sentiments, the overarching message, if one has to be settled upon, is that through all things, all we can (and indeed should!) do is persist, persevere, and – to coin the old English idiom – ‘get on with it!’
For the video, I wanted to present three characters, from the three main stages of life; childhood, adulthood, and old age – and leave it entirely up to the viewer, of course, to decide whether they’re the same person or rather three separate entities. Throughout the clip, I wanted to have them work off a number of elements that would be symbolic (if in a kind of tongue-in-cheek manner) of things life throws at you – contrary signposts that don’t seem to point you anywhere useful; a compass that simply keeps on spinning; and a little later in life, the watch that keeps on ticking, ever faster” - Tom Tee says.

EMPIRES IN THE SUN tracklist:

02. Exquisite (3:52)
