In the 3rd Act of the Mr Strangler trilogy published in 2020, the serial killer lost his life, condemned to death. Shortly before his execution, Mr. Strangler became a messiah for an enigmatic community called The Stranglings and led by The Guide. Traveling from city to city, the community continues to grow, joined by a growing number of people fleeing the modern world in search of a better life and meaning in their existence.
Their name, The Stranglings, comes from a tribute to Mr. Strangler, who became a symbol of freedom, and their feeling of being strangled by society.
A new trilogy begins : The Stranglings Trilogy !

For this new opus, the band teamed up with Chris Vrenna. The American musician and producer distinguished himself as the legendary drummer of Nine inch Nails then Marilyn Manson and worked with the greatest (U2, David Bowie, Smashing Pumpkins, Metallica, Rammstein ...).
The finalization of the album was done with Brian Lucey (Depeche Mode, Arctic Monkeys, Ghost...) who took care of the mastering.
Philippe Deschemin, composer and singer of the band, oversaw the production of the album.

Shotgun Revolution present their new single 'Black Angel'

SHOTGUN REVOLUTION PRESENT
THEIR NEW SINGLE 'BLACK ANGEL'

With more than a million streams across major streaming platforms and the very successful releases of their first singles - being placed in rotation on national and international radio-stations, as well as playlisted on multiple official playlists such as Most Wanted Rock, Rock Hard, New Music Daily, 100% Rock and more, SHOTGUN REVOLUTION have once again proven that they're a force to be reckoned with. Today the band presents their 6th and final single 'Black Angel', before releasing their fourth studio album 'IV' on February 5th.

“In trying times, we all need a place to turn, to seek answers. Wherever that place is… If you haven’t found yours, don’t stop searching! Don’t doubt yourself! Don’t judge others! We are all equal… Faith has no colour, gender or religion. And now, more than ever, we need our ‘angels’ to find comfort and hope. Your truth might be somewhere between the lines. Don´t take our word for it…”, vocalist Ditlev Ulriksen explains about the single.

On the upcoming album ‘IV’, the quartet has once again teamed up with legendary engineer Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica, Ritchie Blackmore, Blind Guardian amo), this time at NRG Recording Studios in Los Angeles, with SHOTGUN REVOLUTION’s own Martin Frank as producer, and mix and mastering by Jacob Hansen (Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, Volbeat, Amaranthe). 'IV' is set to be released on February 5th 2021.

SPORAE AUTEM YUGGOTH to release debut EP through PERSONAL RECORDS - debut album to land later this year

On March 5th, Personal Records is proud to present Sporae Autem Yuggoth's striking debut EP, The Plague of the Aeons, on CD format. Personal Records is the new label imprint of Majestic Downfall mainman Jacobo Córdova, and will be distributed by Chaos Records.

Formed in 2019 in Santiago, Chile, Sporae Autem Yuggoth are a new band with an old soul. Cultists of ancient styles, Sporae Autem Yuggoth deliver unremittingly dark and unapologetically primitive death-doom spawned from the cauldron of the classics. The quintet delivered their debut recording, the four-song/30-minute The Plague of the Aeons, first digitally in early 2020 and then on limited-edition cassette format not long after. An auspicious start to say the least, The Plague of the Aeons moves at brisker pace than much death-doom, twisting and turning to tempos that range headbanging marches and deep-in-the-abyss sludge alike; the songwriting fittingly takes treacherous detours and evokes unsettling atmospheres. Similarly, while Sporae Autem Yuggoth's riffing is doubtlessly crushing, there's equally an acute sense of space being explored, the band able already to span startling extremes; one could even liken their tuning to rock 'n' roll, relatively speaking. But, death and darkness eternal rule supreme here, and The Plague of the Aeons establishes that fact with no uncertainty during its generous playing time.

Even at this early stage, Sporae Autem Yuggoth have etched out a strong sense of authenticity and identity, and hereby will Personal Records release the band's as-yet-untitled debut album later in 2021. Take the first step into their slimy crypt!

In the meantime, hear The Plague of the Aeons in its entirety HERE at Sporae Autem Yuggoth's Bandcamp. Cover  and tracklisting are as follows:

ALTERED DEAD premiere new track at NoCleanSinging.com

Today, death metal duo Altered Dead premiere the new track "Thawing in Agony" at heavily trafficked web-portal NoCleanSinging.com. The track is the third to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated second album, Returned to Life, set for international release on January 25th via Memento Mori. Hear Altered Dead's "Thawing in Agony" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

With beginnings in 2011, Canada's Altered Dead are a two-piece contributing to the tradition of early death metal with a simple and therefore genuine approach: no frills, filthy, and raw, proudly influenced by the likes of Autopsy, Death Breath, Grave, Asphyx, Darkthrone, Unleashed, Exhumed, and Carnage. Released in 2016, Altered Dead's debut album, simply self-titled, was a cornucopia of darkness and utter DEATH. Twisted 'n' gross riffs ripped alongside warring treads of percussion, with the accompaniment of scalded and bellowing dual vocals mangling the listener's mind. Similarly, lyrical themes revolved around physical and mental warfare, mutating human nature, and imminent conflict and collapse. Currently residing in Esquimalt, on southern Vancouver Island, the duo have had numerous live performances and subsequently started work on their long-awaited second full-length.

At last it arrives, bearing the ever-fitting title Returned to Life. Be forewarned, though, as there's no "life metal" here - only utter DEATH, once again, and darkness eternal, of course. The strikingly sick 'n' psychedelic cover art by Matt Sidney should give some clues as to where Altered Dead are coming from here: tendrils of slimy 'n' viscous riffage rising from the muck to ensnare martial mid-tempo gallops and frequent detours into doomed-out despair. The sum effect is infinitely headbanging as it is scabrously sewer-dredging, but rest assured that Altered Dead place a premium on stridently classic songwriting as their aforementioned forebears did at the dawn of the '90s: HOOKS, line, and sinking...into the primordial abyss! Thus, Returned to Life is both backwards-looking as well as inward-looking - as in inward into that very same abyss. And, it also bears re-emphasizing that Altered Dead are a duo; however, for only two people, the band create a world-eating sound far larger than their pared-down membership may convey on paper. Credit due to Loïc Fontaine for his clear 'n' crushing mastering job at Krucyator Studio, France.

Closing with a faithful cover of Celtic Frost's "Into the Crypts of Rays," Altered Dead deliver traditional death metal perfection with Returned to Life.

Hear the first sounds of the perfection with the previously revealed "Prosodemic Realms" exclusively HERE, courtesy of MetalBite.com, as well as the previously revealed title track "Returned to Life" HEREat Memento Mori's official YouTube channel. Denmark's Iotunn reveals details for new album, 'Access All Worlds'

Launches video for first single, "Voyage of the Garganey I"

On February 26th, Denmark's Iotunn will release their new album, Access All Worlds, via Metal Blade Records. For a first preview of the record, a video for the single "Voyage of the Garganey I" can be viewed at: metalblade.com/iotunn - where Access All Worlds can also be pre-ordered in the following formats:

- digipak-CD
- 180g black vinyl (EU exclusive)
- "deep space" marbled vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 200 copies)
- "moonscape" marbled vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 200 copies)
- red / black dust vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 100 copies)
- "uranus" blue / white marbled vinyl (US exclusive)

Formed in 2015, Iotunn (which is old Norse for "Giant") entered the scene with their acclaimed EP, The Wizard Falls (2016), which was mixed by Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica, Morbid Angel, Blind Guardian, Rainbow) at Sweet Silence Studios. After some line-up changes, the band found their voice and narrator in March 2018: Jón Aldará (Hamferd), plus bassist Eskil Rask (Sunless Dawn) in October 2019. The quintet - completed by Jens Nicolai Gräs (guitars), Jesper Gräs (guitars), Bjørn Wind Andersen (drums) - then began work on their first full-length and Metal Blade Records debut: Access All Worlds.

Mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström (In Flames, At the Gates, Dimmu Borgir) at Fredman Studios, Access All Worlds is seven songs driven by creative curiosity and artistic honesty, that also initiate feelings and reflections. An epic, cosmic and contemplative journey of energetic beauty and ferocity, Access All Worlds reflects on human existence, set in a storyline following daring space travelers. The music is grounded in roaring, colorful drumming and crushing bass, while the sonic horizon is painted with a vast spectrum of guitar-driven expression, all overarched by narration through diverse vocals. "We wanted to make an epic, strong and atmospheric yet rocking record both musically and lyrically. Jón came with the idea based on space travelers trying to find answers to the apocalypse, which reflects many of the impressions, feelings and thoughts human life holds that originates from something vast, mysterious, chaotic and breathtakingly spectacular. Everything just went berserk regarding the album theme. Is everything occurring in the lyrics just a dream? Is the album an allegory for any individual's chapters in life? Where does the album actually start and end? Stuff like that. We find that the album can be interpreted in various ways. For us, the album is a truly exciting journey, and we hope it will be for the listener as well, on his or her own terms", says guitarist Jens Nicolai.

Visually, Access All Worlds is completed by Nicole Kantor (design and layout) and Eliran Kantor (artwork), known for their work with Testament, Atheist, Hatebreed, Soulfly, etc.
