Today’s review is of Polish Heavy Metal band Shadow Warrior’s debut album.
This band plays a really classic kind of Heavy Metal, a feeling only enhanced by the low recording quality. The style that can be heard on these songs is really Teutonic, as if they were a German band. With cool yet simple solos like the one on the title track this 80’s feeling is really enhanced.
Most notably, the vocal performance is quite outstanding and shines above the rest of instruments. With the deliverance of this harsh and powerful voice, the album instantly reminds us of early Warlock, especially when the kind of riffs are also similar. This may be most apparent on tracks like “Headless Riders”, and my other highlights may be “Demolition Hammer”, “Squadrons Of Steel” and “Flight Of The Steel Samurai”.
I recommend this album to fans of Heavy Metal, especially Teutonic Heavy Metal. My rating is of 9/10.
