PUSTILENCE sign with MEMENTO MORI - to release debut album this year

In their endless quest to push and support current underground acts that perpetuate the odor of vintage death metal, Memento Mori are extremely thrilled to announce a new signing: Pustilence, from Australia.

Started in late 2018, the three-headed vermin known as Pustilence bring to the table some vicious, relentless, and mind-warping death metal madness, chock full of leads, tempo changes, and putrid vocals, and influenced by the glory days of old-school death metal, when albums by bands such as Oppressor, Morta Skuld, Gutted, and Psychic Pawn took the underground scene by the storm. Lyrics-wise, Pustilence aim to bring a uniqueness to the art of extreme music in the form of fantastical and obscured themes.

Memento Mori will unleash the CD version of their debut full-length in 2021, whereas their friends in Rotted Life Records will take care of the LP and tape versions. Moreover, Rotted Life Records will soon put out the tape version of the band's demo, The Birth of the Beginning Before the Inception of the End.

Guitarist Alexi Laiho Deceased (R.I.P)

One of the most renowned guitarists in the world, Alexi Laiho, has passed away. The musician, most notably known as the front man of Children of Bodom, died in his home in Helsinki, Finland, last week. Laiho had suffered from long-term health issues during his last years. Alexi Laiho and drummer Jaska Raatikainen founded Children of Bodom in 1993, and the band was one of the most internationally acclaimed metal acts in Finland up until their very last farewell concert in December of 2019. Last year Alexi Laiho put together Bodom After Midnight, who recorded three songs and shot one music video, which will be released later on posthumously. Besides Children of Bodom, Laiho was known for acts such as Warmen, Sinergy, Kylähullut and The Local Band. Awarded with a Metal Hammer Golden Gods and several other international prizes, the guitarist was also the main star, leading a group of one hundred guitar players at Helsinki Festival in 2015 in "100 Guitars From Hel" – a massive concert piece he composed. "We are crushed by the sudden passing of our dear friend and band member. Words cannot describe this shock and the profound sadness that we feel", Daniel Freyberg, Mitja Toivonen and Waltteri Väyrynen from Bodom After Midnight state. The talented guitarist and musician relished his roles as stepdad in his patchwork family, and as uncle and godfather. Especially during the last years, the important family ties brought a welcomed balance to his life and the active touring. Laiho was particularly close with his big sister, parents and his sister's daughter. Laiho's sister says: "We are all absolutely shocked and devastated. We ask for privacy and understanding during these hard times. My little brother's funeral will take place privately." Alexi Laiho will also be deeply missed by his family in Australia. "Alexi was the most loving and magnificent husband and father. Our hearts are eternally broken", Kelli Wright-Laiho says.

ROADWOLF - “UNCHAIN ​​THE WOLF” ( Review by Didac "Metallian" López )

When I received the promo for this album, I started listening to it. My first feeling when listening to “UNCHAIN ​​THE WOLF” I am transported to the 80s, it has been a long time since I listened to an album from the first song to the last that I put onThe creeps. "All Hell Is Breaking Loose" already makes you move your head without stopping. It is followed by Unchain The Wolf and you see where the shots are going, Heavy Metal Old School. All the tracks are excellent, to name a few Wheels Of Fire with a SAXON entry,M.I.A ((Missing In Action), Never Surrender ...... Good production and great musicians, for whom I predict a great future.
If you like Judas Priest, Accept, Saxon .... Roadwolf is your band.

This is hard for me write. Yesterday, the Indie Music Scene lost a true warrior. Due to medical conditions, Artist Manager Lindsey Cottingham (House of Curses, Stays in Vegas, Bittersweet Empty) has been taken from us too soon. Lindsey was a fierce advocate for Military Personnel, Veterans and Unsigned Artists. 

Most of her work was in the State of Arkansas but she’s worked with many organizations across the globe to advance her artists careers. She’s survived by her 3 Children. I’m calling on the metal community to please donate to the 2 fundraisers that are set up in her name.

Bio: Lindsey was a selfless, caring person who constantly put others before herself. Not only was she our (House of Curses) manager, She was also the founder of so many non profit causes and now that she’s gone, her children and her family need us now.
