his solo project with the intention of releasing an EP in which he was going to do
charge of all the instruments and see what the time said. After shuffling several
names, it was decided to put the name of Redshark, and not exactly in tribute to
the mythical song of Crimson Glory, but for the fact of trying to use a name
little used original. That EP that Philip Graves wanted to record came to be recorded in
your own room with your PC but the results were not as expected, so
so many copies of it were never published or anything was uploaded on the network.
Later, in early 2013, as Philip Graves continued his attempt to
record another more compositionally worked EP, they joined the band for
coincidences of life Mark Striker on drums and Javi Bono on guitar. In that
Philip Graves era already had three songs composed that were going to form that debut EP
definitive and Philip Graves' project became an established band. Philip
Bass and vocals, Javi Bono (who had previously worked with Philip on Back to Rock
as a singer) on guitar and Mark Striker (old friend from years ago) on drums. The
rehearsals were smooth sailing, starting with versions of other groups and giving
It forms the themes that will form the EP.
In October 2013 they recorded the single ‘’ Lights of Darkness ’’ in the small studio that
Philip Graves has his rehearsal room to know opinions, move our name
and start giving concerts before releasing the EP. The single had acceptances of everything and
served the band to improve.
The first concert performed was here in Barcelona at the Sala Ovella Negra, in
November 2013, in which they played together with Unholiness de Zaragoza and Elathan, a
night that had a good acceptance, almost 100 people in the room, concert that served
partly so that the doors could be opened to us and to play in the 2014 Matarock with
Chino Banzai and Toxic Beer Society, in addition that in summer of that same year they played
at the “Metal Maniacs Fest III” in Gavà, together with Kilmara, Setge, Nozink, Streamer and Time
Lapse.
While this series of concerts were taking place they were recording at the same time, but the
results were not desired again, recording on the premises, with own means
It is complicated and if the necessary time is not devoted to it, it is not much use.
2015 was a difficult year for the band although it was possible to go back to the end of
year playing a concert at the extreme metal fair, in the Vault, next to Madera and
Defiant, and resuming the recording.
This recording was already the definitive, everything was recorded from November 2015 until
February 2016, it was mixed in March of the same year and finally that April
The EP ‘’ Rain of Destruction ’’ was released. After releasing this EP, there were several
live appearances, one of them supporting the Americans Night Demon to
finally become a four-member formation by recruiting Chris Carrest
on bass and Philip Graves on guitar and vocals. With this quartet they would launch the
single “Destroy What Destroys You” belonging to the compilation “Spanish Steel Attack
Vol.II ”by Pako Mate, which was released through Thundersteel Records. Also with this
formation they came to open for the French Hürlement, also with theFinns Ranger and with
the jiennenses Witchtower, one of the best bandsconsidered of the country, and last but not least
they would play in the XII edition of Heavy Metal Espectros in Murcia, along with bands like Omen,
Alien Force, War Dogs, Frenzy,Speed Queen, Streamer again, Turborider and Alae Noctis.
It should be noted that the end of 2018 was not a great time for the band, Javi
Bono was diagnosed with diabetes, which meant a considerable break in the
rehearsals preparing for the performance of Heavy Metal Specters, which came out
quite decent but at the same time upgradeable, thus assuming a point of reflection for
the band.
After reflection Philip Graves realizes that the new themes
they needed a voice that would do justice at the vocal level, since instrumentally it
can notice (at least for us) a certain improvement compared to the previous work
details had to be polished and one of them was this, since Philip did not have the
potential to sing those songs in addition to live deterioration is seen at the level
vocal, and before ending fatal, voiceless, and giving mediocre performances decides that it is
another person who takes the reins. The chosen voice was Pau Correas, old friend
of the band that had already militated in Kill the Krait and currently also in Crimson
Storm. Apart from his vocal level, he was especially chosen because as a person he was
who best fits with the rest of the band, someone already close and wanting to
enjoy doing this to the best of your ability.
To end 2019, the red shark presents this new EP entitled "Evil Realm", which
It was recorded last summer of 2019 by Jaume Perna and mastered by Dan Swanö
at Unisound Studio. They also presented said work opening for Exciter.
Currently, and due to the Covid-19 crisis, they had to postpone their presentations
both from Zaragoza and at the Taunus Metal Fest (Germany) for 2021, therefore the
band is facing adversity in the process of composition.
