THE LEGENDARY AMERICAN PUNK ROCK BAND-
THEY RETURN WITH A NEW SONG
The American Punk Rock band settled in Valencian lands had planned to celebrate
their 25th anniversary during 2020. This involved editing a new album, with new
songs and an extensive tour of various countries (USA, Mexico, Spain, Argentina,
etc. ...) to celebrate it properly. Before the end of 2019, the group had recorded demos at the Karl Sound Studios in
Valencia.
Subsequently and following the planned plan, the band moves to Miami where they lock themselves up at Criteria Studios (Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton, AC / DC, Lenny Kravitz, Bob Marley, ...) working with sound engineer Carlos Álvarez, winner of three © Grammy and thirteen © Latin Grammy and the famous Argentine producer and pioneer of Spanish Punk, Gustavo “Stuka” Fossá (Los Violadores, Stukas, ...) to record his new songs.
Everything went smoothly, the recordings sounded great, but… all the alarms went
off with the Covid-19, all over the world. The group, seeing the closing of borders
on a planetary level, accelerates their return to Spain without being able to finish
recording the album. As everyone knows, the weeks of confinement have been stretched
and the situation seems to be improving, little by little, to return to the US again.
and completely end the recording. It is expected to be in a few months.
After many deliberations and given the anxiety to publish new songs, Don Cikuta has
decided to publish today, a first single advance with one of the new songs, which will
appear within the new album, but extracting the audio of the models that were previously
recorded in Valencia. The sound is quite good and once mastered, it has gained in quality.
This new song is “Red Devil”, composed by Xavi Cikuta (vocals and guitar) and Patxes
Cikuta (on bass) and performed - along with the aforementioned - also by Pelut Cikuta
(on drums) and the new addition to the Cikutron guitar .
“The tingling is so great, and we are so eager for you to hear what we were preparing,
that we couldn't wait. This sudden premiere and in this format we know that it is not the
usual thing, but we want to send a message to all his followers of Don Cikuta, that we are
on fire, that the new songs are going to be a cannon shot and that we are eager to return to
the highway. We hope that while we finish recording the new album and prepare some powerful
video clips, this will serve as a sweet appetizer ”says Xavi Cikuta
