Today’s review is of Swiss Death Metal band Buried Souls’ new album.
This release offers some powerful and dynamic Death Metal with a dark atmosphere and neck breaking riffs. There are also slower parts that lean sometimes even fully towards Doom Metal in a cohesive way, and there’s also a constantly present touch of Sludge throughout the full-length that ties together in a natural way the fast and slow sections.
As a result, the album may appeal to fans of putrid, hard hitting and ultimately rotten Metal, marinated in the gloomiest of marshlands. My personal highlights are “Insurance Of Closed Life” and the title track.
I recommend this album to fans of Death Metal and Death Sludge Metal. My rating is of 8,5/10.
