Today’s review is of Canadian Melodic Death Metal band Nomad’s new album.
This release offers a groovy approach to Death Metal packed with breakdowns that also weaves dynamism through plenty of melodic riffs and occasional clean guitar passages.
Nonetheless, some of the songs have a structure that feels somewhat chaotic and disorienting, and sometimes an excessive amount of vocals doesn’t help neither. Despite that, other tracks are more straightforward and enjoyable. One may feel like the album is too long, and perhaps discarding certain tracks would’ve made it more powerful. Overall though, it has some sweet riffs. My personal highlights are “Burning Alive” and “Blood Moon”.
I recommend this album to fans of Melodic Death Metal and Groove/Death Metal. My rating is of 7,5/10.
