Unchosen Ones announce Sorrow Turns To Dust, their first album
The Galician Unchosen Ones will publish their debut album next Friday, April 21, being in their own words "a tribute and a small twist to the great heavy and power metal bands of the late 90's". In this way, in Sorrow Turns To Dust we can expect "voices and keyboards straight out of the 80s, but with guitars and a rhythmic section adapted to the sound of today's European heavyweight."
Two years after their initial EP Kill The Night, those from Vigo have recorded this LP at the SMHQ studios in their own city, leaving the mix and master in the hands of José Fernando Tercero at his JFT Producciones studios in Ciudad Real. The sound is simply perfect for what the Unchosen Ones propose, and its suggestive cover, done in oil, has been done by Abigail González.
With lyrics inspired by video games like Elden Ring ('Infinite Gear'), Castlevania ('Kill The Night') or Dark Souls ('Ashen Wasteland'), his texts also cover other themes such as anxiety, sadness or “the search for the inner strength to deal with it all.”
It's highly unlikely that Unchosen Ones' Sorrow Turns To Dust won't thrill any fan of Beast In Black, Dream Evil, Orden Ogan, H.E.A.T. or Nocturnal Rites, or melodic heavy metal in general. His thing is to have class. Soon the first single!
