Today’s review is of American Death Metal band Inner Decay’s new album.
This release offers some pure yet diverse amount of Death Metal that will delight fans of many different subgenres. It is mainly old-school, but it also includes some epic Melodeath leads and the powerful vocal performance sometimes delves into Brutal Death ranges every now and then, while mainly offering your standard (yet deep) growls. Many riffs also remind more of the Swedish scene than the American one.
The full-length is dynamic and displays the accumulated talent of the band, who storm relentlessly through these songs while also offering some depth instead of mindless caveman riffs. As a result, you have memorable melodies and solos mixed with hard-hitting Death Metal done the right way. My personal highlights are “Viral Death” and “Death Of The Sun”.
I recommend this album to fans of Death Metal, especially OSDM and Melodic Death Metal. My rating is of 9/10.
