Ornamientos del Miedo presents Yo, No Soy Yo, his new album
Negre planY, Negra Nit's sub-label for slower, heavier sounds, is set to release Yo, No Soy Yo, the third album from one-man band Ornamentos Del Miedo. It is a co-edition in CD format with Vertebrae and the Mexican label Nekromantra Records scheduled for June 24.
A year after the Destierro EP, Angel Chicote (Graveyard Of Souls, Mass Burial, Ad Nebula Nigra…), who is in charge of all the voices and instruments, once again casts a dense and sorrowful shadow over us based on atmospheric doom funeral, although on this occasion he takes some more lively and melodic licenses.
These six long songs, which together almost reach 70 minutes in length, are rich in terms of guitar arrangements, keyboards and samples, managing to drag you into that very personal world in which any delicacy turns to ashes as soon as you enter your mouth. Yo, No Soy Yo can be as reminiscent of the first Paradise Lost or My Dying Bride as it is of Evoken, Esoteric or Officium Triste, because in addition, its production, totally anchored in the 90s, is like a return to those long-awaited and distant days.
Recorded, mixed and mastered by Angel himself at Sinergia in December 2020, the album's artwork has also been created by him, as well as the texts except for those included in 'Sombras De Los Días Venir', the work of the tormented Argentine writer Alexandra Pizarnik.
