Today’s review is of American Doom Metal band Harvest Of Ash’s new album.
This release offers some long, filthy and monotonous riffs of lethargic monstrosity to entrance their listeners. Some parts of the album take the feedbacks and gruelling structures to limits that may be considered well-within Sludge, while many Post-Metal atmospheres give the release some elegance.
The combination of heavy parts with calmer interludes flows naturally and highly reminds of certain Reverend Bizarre songs, although at times the action seems to stop for a little too long. My personal highlights are “Harvest Of Ash” and “II-Aura”.
I recommend this album to fans of Doom Metal, Sludge and Post-Metal. My rating is of 8,5/10.
