El pasado Martes día 12/7 dentro del marco de conciertos del "Festival de Guitarra de Barcelona" asistimos al concierto que ofreció la LEYENDA ( sí , sí en letras mayúsculas) del Rock , George Thorogood en la sala Apolo de Barcelona ante un sold Out de una audiencia muy muy trotada en mil batallas de la vieja escuela rockera , muy pocas personas habrían menores de 50 años y casi o ninguna menor de 40 , y eso se extendía también a los fans ingleses que llegaron en autocares que estaban aparcados por las inmediaciones de la sala.
Thorogood al fín actuó por primera vez en Barcelona junto a su inseparable banda The Destroyers a sus 72 años de edad y tras 50 años de carrera musical , así que era uno de esos bolos en los que era "Ley" estar ahí .
Con un Apolo hasta las trancas y entregadisimo , no había grupo telonero , George Thorogood & The Destroyers salieron al escenario "a pelo" a disfrutar y hacer disfrutar a su gente , a l@s fans del Rock 'n' Roll más clásico , no ví que la noche se inclinara mucho hacia el Blues si no por algún solo de guitarra con o sin el dedal de Bottle Neck que utilizo un rato largo , más bien la sentí del mejor Rock ' n ' Roll clásico y salvaje que veía en él , el nexo de unión que podía haber entre el Rock de Eddie Cochran o Jerry Lee Lewis y el de The Ramones .
Fué una noche en que..... y como no , nos ofreció sus grandes éxitos comerciales , "I Drink Alone" , "One Bourbon , One Scotch , One Beer" , "Bad To The Bone" , la cachonda version "Tequila" y demás clasicos del Rock hasta cerrar con "Born To Be Bad" , en lo que creo que será su única visita ya por estas tierras , encontrándose en una forma excelente , derrochando simpatía , profesionalidad y un gran respeto y agradecimiento a sus fans con quienes interactuó mucho , con gran simpatía y sin hacerse pesado en ningún momento , dejo que se lucieran en dos canciones a los Destroyers en solitario y les dio un gran protagonismo durante el show.
George Thorogood & The Destroyers aunque llegaron mayores a Barcelona nos deleitaron con una gran noche de Rock 'n' Roll y con ella pudimos reencontrarnos con grandes amig@s como todo el clan de los cuatro hermanos Cabanes Jordi , Joan , Isaac y Eloi con Vero , Anabel y Gemma con quienes estuvimos en el concierto , Jesús Moreno Pérez , Albert Esteve & Mercè Carbonell Artigas , Arnau , Albert Morera Domenech y un largo etc .... de reencuentros.
Siento un gran aprecio a este post , porque la emoción que sentí en este concierto , me ha hecho salir de un bache cargado de preocupaciones y mala leche venido por cortesía de nuestro nuevo banco quien a base de una pirula , intenta dejárnos a pan con aceite de por vida y esclavizarnos a su servicio.
Por ello quizá me hayáis visto por conciertos como Exciter , Black Label Society o los tres días del gran Rock Fest con Ana , pero no he hecho crónica alguna de ellos , ya que no me era posible concentrarme y eso que Ana me instaba a escribir porque sabe que ahí me evado del Mundo , pero la pesadumbre que me provocaba todo este asunto me ofuscaba más .
Por suerte parece que tenemos "caminos" para escapar de las garras de esa pirula bancaria y continuar con nuestras vidas .
Así que aún seguiré dando la brasa con estas extensas crónicas....

Thorogood finally performed for the first time in Barcelona with his inseparable band The Destroyers at 72 years of age and after 50 years of musical career, so it was one of those gigs where it was "Law" to be there.

It was a night when... and of course, he offered us his greatest commercial hits, "I Drink Alone", "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer", "Bad To The Bone", the horny version "Tequila "and other Rock classics until closing with "Born To Be Bad", in what I think will be his only visit to these lands, finding himself in excellent shape, wasting sympathy, professionalism and great respect and gratitude to his fans with who interacted a lot, with great sympathy and without becoming heavy at any time, he let the Destroyers shine on two solo songs and gave them a great role during the show.
George Thorogood & The Destroyers, although they arrived older in Barcelona, delighted us with a great night of Rock 'n' Roll and with it we were able to meet again with great friends like the entire clan of the four Cabanes brothers Jordi, Joan, Isaac and Eloi with Vero , Anabel and Gemma with whom we were at the concert , Jesús Moreno Pérez , Albert Esteve & Mercè Carbonell Artigas , Arnau , Albert Morera Domenech and a long etc .... of reunions.
I feel a great appreciation for this post , because the emotion I felt at this concert has made me come out of a pothole full of worries and bad milk courtesy of our new bank who , based on a lollipop , tries to leave us with bread and oil . for life and enslave us to their service.
That is why you may have seen me at concerts like Exciter , Black Label Society or the three days of the great Rock Fest with Ana , but I have not chronicled any of them , since it was not possible for me to concentrate and that Ana urged me to write because He knows that there I escaped from the world, but the sadness that all this caused in me made me even more confused.
Luckily it seems that we have "paths" to escape from the clutches of that banking pirula and continue with our lives.
