Today’s review is of Serbian One-Man Melodic Death Doom Metal project Tisina’s debut album (hopefully that’s transcribed correctly).
This release brings to mind the latest albums of Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride when considering the main melodies, but it also takes a more oppressive approach that relies more on the purely guttural side of the genre, as well as on excruciating Doom riffs that will drag you to the depths of misery at a slow yet steady pace.
As expected with the genre, the songs are long, but their length is the necessary one, with no excess nor lack of development. This full-length is equally dark, elegant, dreadful and atmospheric. Fans of any kind of Doom Metal that leans towards the genre’s most extreme sides to some extent or another will probably enjoy this. My personal highlights are “Iz Mrtvog Ugla” and “Zauvek”.
I recommend this album to fans of Melodic Death Doom Metal. My rating is of 8,5/10.
