Today’s review is of Norwegian Heavy Metal band Sinsid’s upcoming new album, out on May 20th.
This release is yet another offering of NWOTHM by an experienced band. Much like in their previous full-length but with some added prowess and catchiness, the band deliver pure Heavy Metal that leans towards the epic side of the genre, though it doesn’t abandon the carefree and upbeat nature of more straightforward approaches.
As so, this album includes Metal about Metal at its rocking best in a praising of the genre as done by many before, but it also includes some more fantastical and all-enveloping tracks in the likes of Cirith Ungol or Eternal Champion. Nonetheless, there are songs that aren’t as memorable as others, serving merely as generic fillers with no outstanding difference from the majority of the genre, although certain songs like “Iron Heart” or “Headless Grinder” have more appeal.
I recommend this album to fans of NWOTHM and Epic Heavy Metal. My rating is of 8/10.
