R.A.I.D from India play a mixture of hardcore and thrash metal. They used the time of the pandemic to record their third album "Defiance".
They took a whole year to do this. The result is probably their most
personal album to date, and every band member has a very special bond
with it. Lyrically, the album is mainly about living a self-determined
life and not subordinating oneself to society, which restricts one with
its prejudices.
Today the band released their second single Shattered Beliefs on their labels YouTube channel, and was yesterday premiered on Metal.de.
The band about the single:
It's the hardest /heaviest song on the album. It is based lyrically
on the saying: 'A wolf in sheep's clothing'. The song refers in
particular to this saying in the context of the decay of religion. For
centuries, religion has always been interwoven with every political
agenda. Nowadays people see religion as a business, they destroy every
form of faith between man and God.
Line-Up:
Rueban Issac - Vocals
Bobbin Jaydev - Drums
Sam Jaba - Bass
Abishek Allapanda - Guitars
Bio:
When one thinks of a raid, the word generally conjures thoughts of a
sudden attack or assault on an enemy as in warfare. The implication is
that a counter threat or forceful action is being levied against a
previous assailant. With words such as brutal, vicious, and savage being
vogue as descriptions for heavy bands currently, it stands to reason
that words which paint images of attack would be prevalent in today’s
musical landscape.
Enter Hyderabad, India’s newest old school hardcore/crossover thrash
metal powerhouse, R.A.I.D. The brainchild of vocalist Rueban Issac,
R.A.I.D (Rueban And the Imperium Division) started in June of 2016, has
already seen many twists and turns to arrive as the band they are today.
Along with Rueban Issac on vocals, the band is comprised of Abishek
Allapanda on Guitars, Sam Jaba on Bass and Bobbin Jaydev on Drums.
R.A.I.D draws musical influence from such hardcore legends as; Madball,
Suicidal Tendencies, Agnostic Front, Terror, Snapcase and Hatebreed.
Lyrically, R.A.I.D focuses on the classic ethos of hardcore, PMA
(Positive Mental Attitude). R.A.I.D strives to further breathe fresh
music into a generic scene, pushing both music and lyrics to the fullest
potential.
R.A.I.D released two albums in a span of 2 years that include; The
Strong Survive that was released in July 2018 followed by the release of
Imperium in June 2019. Over the years, R.A.I.D’s music has garnered
