Nervosa , Burning Witches , Warfect and Sistemhouse 33. - 16/04/22 Sala Boveda.Barcelona.Spain (Review by Javier Barba Vallejo)

Last Wednesday 3/16 we attended the concert offered by Nervosa , Burning Witches , Warfect and Sistemhouse 33.
Let's see... I have to clarify that the chronicle of this concert is personal and subjective, apart from the fact that I could not attend a large part of it, having said that, I am very sorry that a group gives everything on stage and not receive their feeling , energy and vitality, but that's how I feel things and that's how I tell them, which doesn't mean that the group and its style are bad, just that we don't connect.
We had two big goals that night, to meet again with our two great friends Miguelin and María Jose "Vidita", who when Ana found out that they were coming to the concert signed up and see my beloved Nervosa with the new formation.
After a talk shortly before with Pepe Motorbis, he alerted me to the low turnout the night before in Murcia, that Nervosa played before Burning Witches, that he was not convinced by either Burning or the new four-piece format at Nervosa, etc. ..etc... and it already made me go a bit on the defensive... although I was very much one of Fernanda Lira's Nervosa, I'm still dead with the renewed Nervosa in audio, but I still wanted to see them live, which I was going to do it shortly.
The concert was held in the Sala Boveda (Barcelona) with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. Opening so soon I had to modify part of my real work schedule, from which I take out for hot food, concerts and records!!! . And I have to thank my boss for allowing me to do it on a somewhat troublesome day.

The fact is that although I left work three hours early and Ana was already waiting for me in the car, we arrived at the room where we did not see the performances of the first bands that were the Swedes Warfect and the Indios, yes ... yes .. ..Bombay Indians, Systemhouse 33 . I did not know these two bands and I have listened to them today to be able to name them in this chronicle and the truth is that I have liked the two groups within the genre that was discussed that night, Death/Thrash Metal.
As soon as we entered the room we saw that this was not Murcia, there was a very good turnout, about 400 people, shortly after Sold out, on a working day with very early entry.

And soon we saw each other and there was the great reunion after so much time with Miguelin and "Vidita" we went for beers chatting and laughing until the Swiss group Burning Witches came out with four studio albums on the market and a lot of cool and colorful merchandise, made up of five beautiful girls with sculptural bodies, combined with lush hair and perfect leather clothing down to the last rivet, playing a Heavy / Power Metal ....... with which I did not connect at all from the first minute, nor with neither his music nor his live performance , which did not offer me anything new or exciting , Power is a style that I hated many years ago , although this opinion is on a personal level .
Burning Witches was the group that was out of tune among the four bands of the night due to its style that has nothing to do with Death / Thrash but its reception was very good due to the audience that jumped, sang and applauded following their performance.
Part of the public would attend the concert just for them , as seen by the animation of the people and the sales of their merchandising stand , which is because of us we were all their show drinking beers , chatting and meeting friends Jordi , Jaume , Carles , Fermin with whom we haven't seen each other for a long time .... a pleasure and to see each other at concerts !!!!
Discarding any purchase from the Merchan de las Witches, already impatient, I went to destroy the Merchan de las Nervosa, until they came out in their new quartet format and without Fernanda's wild animal at the head of the band.....

But Nervosa are already big words, both with Fernanda, and with Rocio "Diva Satanica" also a singer in the group Bloodhunter who that same day released the single/video clip "A Twist Of Fate To Come" from their upcoming third album "Knowledge Was The Price", from a Death/Thrash line very similar to Nervosa; In fact, when the old Nervosa band disintegrated, leaving only its guitarist and founder Prika Amaral, she gave him two ovaries and in less than a month he joined Diva Satanica with the voice he already knew for having opened with Bloodhunter for Nervosa in the previous one. tour of Spain, Mía Wallace on bass whom Abbath kicked so meanly and despicably from his band and Eleni Nota on drums, also in the band Lightfold.

Recording in times of the Covid pandemic Nervosa's fourth album "Perpetual Chaos" (2019) and which is the one they are presenting on this tour "Double The Metal" Tour 2022.
They came out on stage with King Of Damnation , People Of The Abbys and Genocide Command from the new album , and it was clear that ALL of them more than met live Diva is a great frontwoman with a guttural voice , wild directness and forceful stage presence , the Italian Mía W. Wallace is a seasoned veteran in 1000 battles with Black Metal and it is very attractive to enjoy how that aesthetic and direct fit in a band like Nervosa, Prika Amaral the founder and tireless fighter for which today Nervosa has the reputation that has , is a brown beast that eats the stage like a dog and Eleni Nota is the only one who comes from more melodic bands like Mask Of Prospero , Meet The Maker , Lightfold , fits perfectly to the Death Metal whiplash without being disheveled or once, although a remarkable raising of arms was appreciated in his hit to the bass drums.

They played "Death" from their debut album "Victim Of Yourself" (2014), "Venomous" from "Perpetual Chaos" and returned to two old songs "into Moshpit" also from their debut and "Kill The Silence" the only one from their "Down Fall Of Makind" (2018) to follow among the screams of the audience of Diva !!!!.... Diva !!!!!.....Diva !!!!! with "Perpetual Chaos" and Blood Eagle", thus showing the acceptance of Diva Safanica as a worthy frontwoman.
Masked Betrayed was the third song performed from their first album and they already reached the final stretch with "Rebel Soul", "Guided By Evil" and finished with "Under Ruins".
The whole concert they offered was brutally slaughtered and you have to see that if in a show of fourteen songs, ten are from "Perpetual Chaos" it is because they presented much more than their last album, they presented the new era of Nervosa with its forceful renewed formation .
Therefore, the spin-off of Nervosa gives Death/Thrash fans the greatness and freshness of the renewed band that emerged from its ashes and the bestial new band Crypta of ex-Nervosa Fernanda Lira and Luana Dameto.

At the end of the concert and seeing that they were hitting their feet on the ground was a sign that the night had been good, at the exit we found Mia Wallace smiling and cool who was taking photos with all the people and of course, we did a group photo with her and I sign the inside of the vest, freaking out with him seeing inside the Motorhead Snaglelot that she was also wearing on her back.

So I went into the room to get the autographs of the rest of the band who were dismantling the stage together with the stage crew. I called Diva by her real name of Rocio and told her to sign the vest in red as Mia, along with the autographs in black of the trio of the old Nervosa de Fernanda, Prika and Luana, he agreed very kindly and without me saying anything, he brought them the vest with the marker to sign Eleni who was disassembled the drums and Prika who was involved with the guitars and pedalboards , to then give it to me and take a photo with me and the people who at that moment approached from the top of the stage, a very nice touch with the fans.
Great Nervosa concert and new stage that I wish you full of successes, along with Bloodhunter and Crypta.
WOMEN IN DEATH METAL RULES!!!!!
