SOLSTICE – TO DUST( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of American Thrash Death Metal band Solstice’s album “To Dust”, celebrating its recent re-release.

This album offers a furious assault of Extreme Metal that tends much more towards Death Metal than to Thrash, incorporating a lot of 2000s elements that distance the album from anything classic. The songs include a vast amount of melody that often seems excessive, but at times it helps weave an even more aggressive concept, for despite the technique used nothing is embellished but rather befouled even further.

If you want something technical, dirty and furious then look no further, this offering of deathly rot combined with Thrash Metal’s violence will make you bang your head ravenously if you’re into its release decade’s zeitgeist. My personal highlights are “Conclusion Disillusion” and “Moment Of Clarity”.

I recommend this album to fans of Thrash Death Metal and Technical Death Metal. My rating is of 8/10.
