DISTANT PAST present the new Lyric Video to the Song “I am Omega” from their acclaimed album “The Final Stage” The song features cool NWOBHM Style Grooves, fiery guitars, poignant vocals and an intense guitar solo by Guitarist Lorenz. The song is catchy and the final Chorus reminds us a little of the “Wicker Man” from Metal Legends Iron Maiden. The lyrics and the spoken word intro are based upon the movie “The Omega Man”  (1971) starring Charlton Heston as the sole survivor in apocalyptic New York, inhabited by strange creatures that see him as abnormality and lust for his blood. The original novel” I Am Legend “ by Richard Matheson was written in 1954. It has been adapted two more times as feature movie: The first was “The Last Man on Earth” (1964), which starred Vincent Price and “I Am Legend” starring Will Smith (2007). The video was produced by Kaspar Zwirner, who also produced the last two videos of Distant Past. He created a post-apocalyptic landscape complete with lights, smoke and fire; then superimposed clips of the bandmembers playing on it. The result is something to be proud of and gives the song more depth. We are founded in Guadalajara, Spain as Death/Thrash formation under the name Sadistic. After changing bandname to Vultus the band was moving to Berlin, Germany.
