Today’s review is of Polish Melodic Black Metal band Hegeroth’s new album.
The album offers a good dose of malice condensed in powerful riffs that serve as a strong successor to their previous album. In many aspects, the album’s songs remind of Swedish Black Metal acts such as Dark Funeral, striving towards a fast-paced melodic approach that sometimes produces an almost exaggerated result, but the essence of Polish Black Metal is also prevalent on the release, creating a synthesis that describes well the musical personality of the band.
Most of the album is performed in a steady tempo that allows chaos and mayhem to flourish in the form of enigmatic solos and firm subjects. This full-length may be enjoyed by fans of modern or classic Black Metal, for it has a clear sense of identity that at the same time doesn’t stray much from the norm. My personal highlights are “With Adoration” and “With Devotion”.
I recommend this album to fans of Melodic Black Metal. My rating is of 8,5/10.
