Today’s review is of Canadian Brutal Death Metal band Fumigation’s upcoming new album, out on February 18th.
This album offers a savage assault of Brutal Death Metal in the likes of Suffocation with some slower breakdowns that almost approach Slam to instantly exterminate all rodents and insects in the listener’s home when the album is played due to its heaviness and odd lyrical themes. The direction taken by the band remains fairly old-school, delivering grotesque Extreme Metal any veteran listener may enjoy without surprises.
The full-length firmly follows the formula for the subgenre, but at times a slight peak out of the comfort zone offers tracks that come near to Goregrind or even some with epi undertones, all while preserving the intended musical depravity. Fans of primitive metal should like this relentlessly aggressive release. My personal highlights are “Centipede Stampede” and “Servant Of The Queen”.
I recommend this album to fans of Brutal Death Metal. My rating is of 8/10.
