Today’s review is of English AOR band Dare’s new album.
Showing off their veteran talent, the band have produced catchy and fairly atmospheric synth-driven tracks with catchy riffs and all the necessary lyrical topics for a strong AOR full-length. Some of the songs have a high commercial friendliness and may be better deemed as Pop Rock, and while the same soft and chill aura may be felt on the other songs, there are some heavier pieces on the album that will allow for a great live performance.
All the essence of this well explored genre is perfectly displayed on the release, and some good melodic solos compliment the choruses to display some further rocking talent. Overall, it also feels very fresh and new besides embracing a marvellously old-school approach. My personal highlights are “Born In The Storm” and “Fire Never Fades”.
I recommend this album to fans of AOR and Pop Rock. My rating is of 8,5/10.
