Today’s review is of Catalonian Black Metal band Blazemth’s comeback album.
Technically serving as well as their debut, this album takes a very different approach than their early works (something understandable given the presence of a single original member in the line-up). Although the style isn’t the same, it’s still old-school Black Metal. Nonetheless, instead of being raw and comparable to Burzum or Darkthrone, their new songs take a more technical and grandiose approach in the likes of Dark Funeral or at times even early Emperor, reminding too of German Black Metal bands such as Dark Fortress and overall offering a mix that brings Ouija to mind.
Although the approach is completely different, the band still plays powerful and dark Black Metal that won’t easily disappoint their original fans. The added bit of beauty allows their tracks to offer something fresh and yet still clearly old-school. My personal highlights are “Inferno” and “In Fight I Die”.
I recommend this album to fans of Black Metal. My rating is of 9/10.
