Today’s review is of Venezuelan Black Metal band Veldraveth’s new album.
This release is an occult offering of Black Metal that strives towards a dark and chaotic sonority that brings to mind the Scandinavian scene, incorporating elements of mystique and a powerful and mysterious vocal performance instead of opting for plain aggression. The result is a mesmerizing offering that may also bring to mind acts such as Martwa Aura or Acherontas, though perhaps this album leans more towards a Blackened Death Metal direction.
Arpeggios and wrathful percussions mixed between the blasts help to create here an atmosphere of utmost blackness, as does the sinister ambient outro. The release is a pure kind of Extreme Metal that may be enjoyed by fans of aphotic and dismal music. This is also the kind of full-length that get better after every play. My personal highlights are “Abandonment Of Faith” and “Sun, Inflamate The Sun”.
I recommend this album to fans of Black Metal. My rating is of 9/10.
