Today’s review is of Brazilian Death Metal band Hierarchical Punishment’s new album.
This release delivers old-school aggressive Death Metal with some elements of Grindcore that don’t quite bring it totally towards Deathgrind, but that add new depths of sweet putridity while not interfering with the melodies.
If you want something violent, fast and merciless then look no further. This is an album of hard-hitting Death Metal performed with that easily identifiable pinch of darkness that is prevalent in classic Brazilian Extreme Metal, which is here honoured while also allowing space for freshness added in a way that doesn’t interfere with the malevolent intent of old-school fury. Fans of traditional and violent metal to break your neck at while also being able to appreciate nice touches of melody will enjoy the full-length. My personal highlights are “Escape The Fate” and “Turning Point”.
I recommend this album to fans of Death Metal and Deathgrind. My rating is of 8,5/10.
