XIPETOTEC presents: "TLAMIQUIH"

TLAMIQUIH means all things die.

Xipetotec's new album and as the band's label deals with the philosophy of death for the Mexican culture reflected in its mythology.

The album preserves the musical line used in xipetotec throughout his career but this time experimenting with clean voices as a ritual and a variety of guttural tones.

Pre-Hispanic instruments are much more present, which is why this material is still exotic and different from what was previously presented.

Xipetotec was born as a self-awareness of the Mexican people to emphasize their roots. The culture and daily life of the ancient Mexica was a very rich field when it came to writing the songs. the defeated vision of the original Mexican race conquered through violence; the loss of the old language (Nahuatl); Mesoamerican ancestral history and its worldview; sacrificial worship and religion are subjects well adapted to aggressive death metal music. natives of the state of mexico, which began in 1996, but it was not until 1998 when they released their first full-length material entitled “prehispanic beg” with the first line-up.

After 13 years the band is resumed as a session project with a single original member: martín martínez who was on the drums and goes on to compose and record the entire musical part, he is joined by Alex Camacho on voice.

Together since 2011 they have been releasing long-lasting materials without interruption, which are: eztlacuani (2011), in moyocoyani (2013), miquian (2015), prehispanic beg (re make and re master 2017), axomimitl (2018) and tlamiquih (2021).
