Today’s review is of Swedish AOR band Autumn’s Child’s upcoming new album, out on January 14th.
This album brings to mind glamorous Hard Rock in the likes of Ratt, Dokken, Whitesnake or Europe with the also absolutely classic synth driven melodies. Embodying pure AOR that induces the listener to put on some cool sunglasses in front of many explosions in an expensive car, the band doesn’t offer much innovation, but they pick the genre’s formula and give it a powerful swing of freshness to produce some more catchy songs.
While some heavier songs have an even purer 80s vibe, there are also some lighter tracks with certain commercial appeal together with soft ballads and the occasional epic power ballad. If you want some emotional old-school greatness, look no further. This is a decent offering of Rock done in the likes of the masters. My personal highlights are “Nightingale” and “Crowdpleaser”.
I recommend this album to fans of AOR and Hard Rock. My rating is of 8/10.
