Today’s review is of Australian Heavy Metal band Shake The Temple’s homonymous album.
This release displays energetic Heavy Metal that combines some old-school sleaziness with modern grooves into a smoothly flowing mix. Their confident riffs bring to mind the nastiest Hard Rock bands of the 80s, while their occasional use of breakdowns or harder-hitting bits ensures the continuity of the songs’ commercial appeal.
Although this album may feel too long, it includes some nice tracks that generally make it worth your while, though other songs seem less original. The release also has some notable personality, adding to their sound influences of many subgenres though always keeping Heavy Metal as the main theme. Despite some edges being somewhat rough, future releases may probably bring a perfection that shall make their sound even more appealing. My personal highlights are “Huntsman” and “Who I Am”.
I recommend this album to fans of Heavy Metal, Power Metal, Progressive Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. My rating is of 8/10.
