"The Sorrowful Frost" was written and recorded within a two month window and was intended as a slight departure from previous offerings, forgoing more extended and epic songs for punchier, more intense and shorter tracks. After nearly 3 years since their conception and having digitally released 9 EPs and 2 epic singles, "The Sorrowful Frost" will serve as the bands debut full-length album, consisting of 15 tracks of SHADU's signature old school-meets-new school blackened death metal with tints and shades of thrash, speed and melodic metal. The album also includes an instrumental track titled 'Eldritch Dawn', a slightly avant-garde interlude titled 'Sorrow and Frost' and a cover of 'Shadow of Death' by fellow Canadian band SLAUGHTER. Produced by SHADU-NAR-MATTARU. Recorded and engineered by Chris Shaver at Fief Fifty Studios between August 28-October 29, 2021.
