Today’s review is of Colombian Thrash Metal band Disaster’s upcoming new album, out on November 19th.
This album includes an absolutely dynamic tracklist that reaches out athwart the style’s multiple subgenres, while a clear and interesting identity is almost always constant. As so, some songs are brutal Thrash Death Metal, others take a Bay Area approach, some feel like cold Black Thrash Metal and others have a sweet element of Heavy Metal. With this present, the album may appeal to fans all over the genre that enjoy their music if its extreme, old-school, slightly dark and definitely violent.
Nonetheless, other listeners may feel a lack of consistency, but the full-length has its defined style, notable too for some interesting melodies and overall talent. My personal highlights are “Ancient Rites” and “Living Fast Dying Young”.
I recommend this album to fans of any kind of Thrash Metal. My rating is of 8,5/10.
