Today’s review is of Canadian War Metal band Bestial Putrefaction’s debut album.
In only 28 minutes, these 26 tracks of pure gory depravity display the band’s talent in portraying a sonic description of aggression. Combining the already brutal War Metal sound with elements of Noise and Goregrind in a clear early Carcass worship, the release also has some certain darkness in its sound that adds its satanic side to top the evil here composed. The mix of all this reminds of other War Metal acts from Canada such as Revenge, making this another opus of pure Canadian Extreme Metal.
Although this violent album may serve well to free your inner caveman, after a while the songs keep sounding more and more similar, with almost the same length and intro. While there are some exceptions in the tracklist that go a step further and are nice pieces of Metal in its most extreme form, the main flaws of the release is its monotonousness and attachment to a too well-defined formula, though these aspects may surely improve in future albums.
I recommend this album to fan
s of War Metal and Goregrind. M
y rating is of 8/10.
