Today’s review is of Australian Hard Rock Hellz Abyss’ new EP.
This release includes 5 tracks of modern and groovy Hard Rock with a pretty American sound that’d make it adequate for film soundtracks given the commercial appeal. Fronted by a confident vocal performance, the songs not only feature catchy choruses and rebellious lyrics, but they also have a Punk undertone that gives the EP much of its power and unconformity combined with an occasional flirting with Heavy Metal.
Packed with fresh anthems that also display the right amount of shredding together with some Beastie Boys meet Girlschool vibes, this release is a must for rockers looking for something new yet not far from what’s been firmly established. My personal highlights are “Wanna Play” and “Freedom Phobia”.
I recommend this EP to fans of Hard Rock and Punk. My rating is of 8,5/10.
