Today’s review is of Finnish Heavy Metal band Thy Row’s upcoming new album, out on September 24th.
This straightforward full-length delivers powerful tracks of Heavy Metal with a clear Finnish identity that occasionally adopt a Hard Rock approach, always bathed in a modern sonority. While these songs may lack some old-school elements for the likings of certain listeners (even though the distant influences of modern Judas Priest may help bring it nearer to fans of the classics), if you enjoy current Heavy Metal with anthem-like hints and a sort of soundtrack feeling that never interferes with the heaviness then you should like the album.
Thanks to nice solos and a vocal performance that complements ideally the instrumentation, the release includes decent tracks such as “The Round” or the epic “The Downfall”, which is divided in 3 unique parts.
I recommend this album to fans of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. My rating is of 8/10.
