Today’s review is of Canadian Blackened Power Metal band The Lightbringer’s album “Heptanity”.
This release carefully blends the majestic and light side of Power Metal with mesmerising melodies and a dark Black Metal side. This unlikely combination adopts the shape of long and complex tracks that surprisingly flow naturally, which include some catchy passages that won’t leave your head for quite some days.
If you want to check out a curious band that freely jumps from one genre to another without falling into absurdly avant-garde territories, this full-length is a good introduction to the band. Their brilliant performance here combined with a myriad different undertones and astoundingly high vocal capabilities will leave you in awe. My personal highlights are “The Sword Of Crystalline Light” and “The Crushing Thunderbolt Of Skies”.
I recommend this album to fans of Blackened Power Metal, Symphonic Metal, Melodic Power Metal and Symphonic Black Metal. My rat
ing is of 9/10.
