Today’s review is of Canadian Death Metal band The Blood Of Christ’s demo “The Lonely Flowers Of Autumn”, celebrating its cassette reissue and CD reissue together with the “Frozen Dreams” demo and some fabulous bonus tracks.
Unlike the previous demo, on this one the song writing starts to appear as something more complex, lengthening the duration of each song and adding some Black Metal elements to their already packed mix. Despite the changes, it is still clearly the same band in essence, and their darkness is preserved. Fans of either demo should also enjoy the other one, and they both appear naturally on the track list of the combined CD. This demo seems once again as a mix of all that is good in Extreme Metal channelled into quality Death Metal for the underground’s delight.
I recommend this demo to fans of Death Doom Metal, Blackened Death Metal, Brutal Death Metal and pure Death Metal. My rating is of 9/10.
