RAVENOUS – HUBRIS (Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Canadian Power Metal band Ravenous’ upcoming new album, out on October 22nd.

Although perhaps too long for many listeners, this album features great special guests and many tracks of stronger than usual Power Metal with Hammerfall’s slight rough edge and Unleash The Archers’ excessive melody. As any good Power Metal album, it includes hints of medieval music combined with a fun side to it all.

Between the countless solos and upbeat vocal performances, you may find some heaviness mixed with their bits of symphony that may appeal fans of different genres too. If these 10 tracks of pure Power Metal aren’t enough for you, there are also a couple of Japanese edition bonus tracks to push the duration over the hour for all the diehards out there. My personal highlights are “Astral Elixir” and “The Alder Queen”. Fans of virtuous guitar performances should also check this one out.

I recommend this album to fans of Power Metal. My rating is of 8/10.
