Today’s review is of English AOR band Newman’s upcoming new album, out on September 10th.
On their 13th album, the band shows some veteran expertise when crafting these 12 songs of which surely none is a filler. Plagued with catchy choruses in the likes of Whitesnake, solos performed with emotion and all-encompassing synth walls of old-school greatness, this album is a solid Rock highlight of this year.
From powerful songs such as “Start This Fire” or “Don’t Come Runnin’” to sad ballads like “Lightning Tree”, the album also shows a dynamic tracklist elaborated in an ideal order to get the most out of the ups and downs it offers. This is also an easy-going listen that could even be featured on radio, only to blow away the listeners with the strength of a hurricane with tracks like “Timebomb”.
I recommend this album to fans of AOR and Melodic Rock. My rating is of 9/10.
