Today’s review is of Portuguese Industrial Metal band Mercic’s new album.
Unlike “Mercic_7”, this release is more guitar driven and is almost entirely instrumental, allowing the intricate ambience to bloom better and even adding some dark undertones to the songs’ perpetual sci-fi feeling.
Despite that, these tracks in no way depend less on the electronic sounds, these are still clearly present and predominant. In most cases, they even seem apt for a film or videogame about intense fighting’s soundtrack. With these dynamic changes in mind, a fan of their previous albums should still enjoy this release, perhaps even more than the others. This album is also much more purely Industrial Metal, though the stylistic freedom is still present. My personal highlights are “The Ruinous Damage” and “The Continuous Uncertainty”.
I recommend this album to fans of Industrial Metal. My rating is of 8,5/10.
