Today’s review is of Portuguese Industrial Metal band Mercic’s album “Mercic_7”.
Unlike most Industrial bands, Mercic combines the hard-hitting guitar driven side with a much more electronic and atmospheric approach. These notably short songs create intriguing soundscapes that also add to the mix some slight hints of many other subgenres, all under the usual odd sounds attributed to Industrial Metal.
One mustn’t put this album on expecting some mechanical riffs to bang their heads to though, but instead expecting some powerful ambience with metal hints to use as a sci-fi revolt soundtrack. With this in mind, fans of Avant-Garde Metal bands with electronic elements such as Igorrr may enjoy this release. My personal highlights are “Batalha De Egos” and “Começa A Viver-te”.
I recommend this album to fans of Industrial Metal and Avant-Garde Metal. My rating is of 8/10.
