I ABYSSICK – ASHES ENTHRONED ( Review By Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Greek Gothic Metal band I Abissick’s debut album.

This release includes clear influences of the style’s pioneers, such as Moonspell or Paradise Lost, but with the implementation of heavier elements they strive towards a pretty modern sound, perhaps comparable with Lord Of The Lost.

Though for some this extensive release may at times seem monotonous, there are some pretty good tracks that seem to be following correctly the most commercially appealing trends in this genre. Despite that, the individual songs never seem boring although some may be long. My personal highlights of this carefully crafted album are “Upon A Throne Of Ruins” and “Truth”. Fans of modern and hard-hitting yet melodic Metal should check this one out.

I recommend this album to fans of Gothic Metal. My rating is of 8/10.
