Today’s review is of German Blackened Death Folk Metal band Suidakra’s upcoming new album, out on June 25th.
Even after 25 years, the band is capable of delivering an album that sounds completely fresh, modern and yet distinctly theirs. Perhaps their style may be best described as a furious version of Cruachan combined with Enslaved’s progressive side, modern Rotting Christ and At The Gates.
With the combination of blasting drums, melodic and catchy riffs that transmit in all moments the most desired intentions and a strong vocal performance that ties everything well together, this album includes incredible tracks like “The Inner Wolf” or “Darcanian Slave” that may impress old fans and newcomers alike. Fans of anything dark and extreme can enjoy this release that has been finely crafted by metal veterans.
I recommend this album to fans of Folk Metal, Blackened Death Metal, Melodic Death Metal, Progressive Black Metal and other similar subgenres. My rating is of 9,5/10.
