Today’s review is of Turkish Death Metal band Diabolizer’s debut full-length, out on July 2nd.
The wait has been long but worth it, for this side-project of important members of the Turkish scene has finally unveiled their mayhemic debut. Plagued with fast paced chaos and sonic devastation, this release kind of brings to mind old-school American Death Metal, especially bands such as Deicide, although they may surely be crowned in the halls of violence.
Despite the absolute extremity, this record doesn’t commit the tedious mistake of Brutal Death Metal’s monotony, instead they opt for a pretty dark approach that allows space for atmospheric obscurity, though never ceasing in their wrathful assault. My personal highlights are “Maelstroms Of Abhorrence” and “Perishing In His Oceans Of Blood”, but there are definitely no fillers here.
I recommend this album to fans of Blackened Death Metal and American Death Metal. My rating is of 9/10.
